Superb hotel Ate in restaurant drank in bar and upgraded to a super room! Check in staff Emin super efficient and friendly Rocky Mountaineer checked in at hotel with ease Woukd visit Canada again and definitely consider this hotel as a main stay

The Rim Rock has always been a favorite of ours for a mini staycation. It's location amongst the mountains cannot be beat and the hotel itself has a very magical feel to it. We recently returned and spent 2 nights here in a 2 queen family room. It was our first time staying in a larger suite and while the extra room was nice, I can't say that I would pay extra for this room type in the future. As the years go by, the rooms are definitely starting to show their age and the hotel is overdue for a refresh or renovation. Our particular room was very dark with limited lighting options. Only a couple of lamps over in the living space and because we were located near the parking garage with obstructed views, there was very little natural light that came through. I'm also not a fan of bathtubs that use a shower curtain where water can spray out. Also did not love their toilets with the semi oval seat where there is a gap at the front, very awkward, and it doesn't feel like home. Feels like a toilet at a shopping mall. TVs should be updated to allow for access to Netflix etc. All this said, it's unlikely that we will return any time soon. Room rates and food costs are getting to be outrageous. We were here for a conference and a buffet meal was $90pp plus tax and gratuity. That is just insane.

For the cost this hotel is not any better than one of a lower cost, however I understand that Banff is expensive overall. I would also expect the exact same experience/offerings for each guest, but after some conversations with others that attended we were not... The billing also needs some attention, as our bill was not correct along with some others and the event coordinator was also very frustrated by these mistakes!

Absolutely loved this hotel a bit out of Banff centre very close to upper hot springs and the sulphur mountain gondolas very easy walkable food was good and reasonably priced as were drinks great views all around room and amenities were very good the only small thing we think would make the rooms better would be walk in shower instead of tub with a curtain round but would definitely recommend and stay again when visiting Banff

We couldn’t find any available accommodation in Banff town so settled on the Rimrock Resort. It was more than we wanted to spend but as it turned out, it was well worth it. We had one of their standard rooms on the 8th floor, which was large, light, bright and comfortable. It looked out over the car park and beyond to the mountains and the Banff Gondola. Whilst not the best view from the hotel, we were happy with it. We used the convenient coffee shop on site for on-the-go breakfasts and also tried their Primrose restaurant too, which was lovely with attentive staff. Special thanks to Isaac for recommending we stop by Chinook Centre on our trip to Calgary (we enjoyed shopping there). We did think it might be a problem staying out of town but the hotel provides free bus passes for the the duration of your stay and it was possible to get into town within 10 minutes. Banff was extremely busy so I think we made the right choice to be somewhere quieter. We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance.
