Great hotel in a great location!
DebupNorth1 (Michigan) on Sep 03, 2024
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location in Banff. You are a short walk to the gondola and the hotel provides free shuttle service to downtown Banff. The best thing about the hotel was the exceptional staff. The concierge was fantastic and helped in advance of our trip and when we were there. One day we requested they call a taxi to take us to Lake Minnewanka and one of the bell men said they were not busy and he could just drive us with the hotel car. The Primrose restaurant was very good. We would recommend this hotel if traveling to Banff.
Disappointing room quality
Road605351 (Chicago, Illinois) on Sep 02, 2024
As someone that travels a lot for both work and leisure, in my opinion this hotel is not a 4 star. I understand Rimrock new owners are upgrading the rooms but maybe they shouldn’t charge luxury prices when only the lobby area is currently upgraded. ( luxury is Belmond, Fairmont, Ritz, Langham, etc ) wish I had taken seriously other reviewers before booking, I was seriously hoping the rooms weren’t that bad. Their rooms are very disappointing. We got the 1-bedroom suite and the bedroom was a dark room with no windows, 1 vent and just poor air circulation. And I was told that was one of the nicest rooms in that block. The carpets, furniture all need an upgrade. The bathroom is beyond dated, the faucet didn’t function properly and the pipe has a small leak, and door had some chips, water damage. The rooms didn’t even have simple grooming things like q-tips, shower cap, etc. Luxury hotels will keep nespresso or something similar, Keurig is so mid-range. Daily housekeeping consistents of just changing towels and making your bed, they “cleaned” the bathroom and i still found hairs on the floor. The staff is nice, the restaurants are great, especially Eden… All in all, consumers don’t spend large amounts for the restaurants, we pay for the rooms. With the current quality of the rooms, it’s worth staying somewhere else and eating at Rimrock restaurants. The price of the rooms doesn’t match up to the quality.
