Great place to stay to tour downtown Halifax

Excellent one week stay here. All of the front desk staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our one bedroom suite was perfect. Location could not have been better!
A shameless rip off

A low budget hotel that was kidding itself. Air con hasnt been working for TWO YEARS. No cups, plates or forks or spoons or anything useful in the kitchen. We asked for some wine glasses and were told no. Staff were indifferent, at best. Everything about this hotel was crap. Above all, it was HOT. The best they could do was provide a noisy industrial fan. The Halifax Hilton managed to be both the most expensive and worst hotel we stayed in during a 6 week trip to Canada. Congralulations Hilton Halifax.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hollis for our anniversary. The room and the hotel were lovely and clean. We received excellent customer service especially from Manpreet at the front desk. She was helpful, knowledgable an so very pleasant, she made our trip go from a 8 to a 10!!!
Worth money

Had a nice stay, worth money, although it seems a little outdated. We checked in late at night, deep at reception was friendly and almost all the staff are friendly. We found restaurant overpriced, and food somewhat mediocre.
Lovely Hotel in a Great Location

We have just returned from our trip to Nova Scotia. We stayed in the Hollis Hotel at the beginning and end of our vacation and couldn't have been happier. We were delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade to a spacious suite, complete with a living room, dining area and a small kitchenette. The bedroom was a good size and the beds were so comfortable. Receiving a warm cookie at check-in was a nice touch. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. The location was perfect - 2 blocks from the waterfront and the boardwalk and was very close to many restaurants. I should mention that directly across the street is a wonderful food market with lots of ready prepared options if you choose to bring something to eat back to the room. We picked up breakfast there every morning. The only downside is the fact that there's construction across the street, so it's quite noisy. However, that doesn't stop me from giving the Hollis 5 Stars and for recommending it highly.
