Happy Kama'aina

Staycation gone great! Fantastic view! Due to COVID my wife and I ordered takeout for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Having our meals and drinks with the beautiful view made it more spectacular. We did go walking in Waikiki and also did some shopping at the mall. We had lunch at Paia Fish Market Waikiki. I love to eat fish. My wife and I ate the Ono and had calamari. The food is fantastic. That was the best Ono and calamari we ate. Our staycation was very memorable.

No frills - great value

This hotel offers a unique experience on Waikiki in that it has a terrific oceanfront location, with gorgeous ocean views (if like us you choose an ocean front deluxe room). The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, everything was clean and tidy during our stay. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The flip side is that the hotel has zero amenities. No fitness center, no breakfast, no room service, no pool, not so much as a treadmill. Also, the rooms are quite small. The bathroom in particular is tiny. This was fine for the two of us, but 4 people would probably be very uncomfortable. So if what you are looking for is a zero-frills, good-location, cozy hotel room right on the beach, at a reasonable price then this is the place for you! If you need a pool, playground, spa, etc. or need a large room, then I would not recommend this hotel. Note: I'm knocking the service grade because of lack of amenities, not because the staff was bad. They were great.

Great location, great hotel

This hotel is in a fantastic location! The entire staff was friendly and really made us feel welcome. The hotel was clean, I truly felt my family was in a safe clean place. The beds were a little firm for my taste, but it was doable. I would definitely stay at this hotel location again!

Circle the Circle - Great Views, Great Value in Waikiki

RSOblio on Aug 10, 2021

My wife and I had to fly over from Maui for a brief one-night stay, part business part pleasure. We have stayed at many properties throughout the Hawaiian Islands, from tiny boutique properties to mega-resorts and everything in between. What we loved about this property was that it had a boutique-like feel that reminded us of some of the smaller properties we really enjoy in Southeast Asia. We like the smaller properties where we can come and go without a whole heap of fanfare. This is not to say we don't appreciate the overly attentive service of a Ritz or Four Seasons, but those experiences have their own time and place and for us, this brief weekend trip was not one of them. As such, we decided to try something new with Aston Waikiki Circle and we are delighted we chose to do so. The hotel itself is, in fact, an architectural circle. Many of the rooms have incredible views and we were only sorry we did not have more time to spend simply enjoying the view from our lanai. Spectacular! Our room was not huge but very comfortable for the two of us with everything we needed and again, afforded us that boutique-like feel we really enjoy when we know we will be coming and going often and want a property that allows for that without long walks down long corridors and long waits for elevators. Being a circle, no long hallways or long walks and very easy access. The bathroom door had a lovely glass panel that was blue and had circle bubbles underscoring the architectural theme/design of the structure. The property is directly across the street from a great portion of Waikiki Beach and allows for easy access to great shopping, dining, and anything else one may care to access in Waikiki.. As rental cars were pretty much booked and we did not care to pay more for a rental car than the room, we used Biki bikes and the bus to navigate our way to and from the airport and into Chinatown. First time ever we did not rent a car on Oahu and it was a really fun new way to experience the city. The Circle's location made this all very easy. I would be remiss were I not to mention the warm, friendly and accommodating staff. Everyone we encountered were wonderful and we will definitely stay here again. If you and yours are accustomed to five star destination resorts with a huge staff, multiple concierge desks, etc, this may not be for you. But if you are seasoned travelers who appreciate great location, great views, warm service and great value...check it out!
