The Ambassador- perfect choice

Jim53951 (West Chester, Pennsylvania) on Apr 10, 2026

The location was perfect: close to waikiki beach, restaurants, and nightlife. The restaurant on the ground floor had great breakfasts and dinners. An easy choice after a late check in. We checked in twice: once before and once after a cruise. Will worked with us the first time and was exceptional providing information. Which is something in itself after our 14 hour flight. Shereen helped us the second time. We had requested an early check in (we are Hilton gold) and Shereen was able to make that happen. We had a nice room with a great beach view. Even the valets were helpful with an off the cuff beach restaurant suggestion. And all this the week after the major Kona low storms.

A So/So Budget Hotel

heather j on Apr 09, 2026

I wanted to share a review after debating whether or not to reserve this hotel. We have previously stayed at Hilton Village and loved it but thought we'd give this a try. We went as a family of four and here were the pros and cons. Pros: Comfy beds and pillows, nice bathrooms, mini fridge, hotel had very few people staying when we were there (guessing due to recent storms), pool area is nice and clean (small pool), decent location - about 10 min walk to beach and restaurants. Cons: Bathroom was very dirty when we arrived (tons of black hair all over floor and dirty toilet) - we asked for it to be cleaned and they showed up 2 days later to clean (I had cleaned it myself prior to this), room is on the small side - no couch or sitting area, no coffee maker (just pour over coffee - like tea bags and it was gross!), rooms have old glass doors so lots of street noise, room above us had a dog that would bark for long periods of time. Overall a very budget hotel with decent beds. We wouldn't stay here again due to location, street noise and lack of cleanliness but it might be ok for just adults who are up for lots of walking and average rooms.

Never again

FarAway02771693694 on Apr 08, 2026

Review for family of 4 (2 kids 12 and under): room only has 1 table and 1 chair. At least provide two seats since it was a two-bed room. Dish Satellite TV channels did not work half the time when it wasn’t raining and 100% of the time when it was raining. Luckily we were able to log into our Netflix account. Room door has a 1/2” gap to the hallway. All sounds in and out can be heard clearly. Walls are also paper thin because I could hear a couple of neighbors getting it on the first night, and they weren’t even being overtly loud! Glad my kids were already asleep. Bathroom water pressure was a joke, peeling black colored shower heads covered in white crusty scale and calcification, shower knob took two hands to pry to turn water on/off. Kids could not work the shower themselves as it was too hard to open. Hair dryer was so old that it literally started smoking and exploded in my face while I was using it. Good thing it didn’t happen while my kids were drying their hair. Hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash bottles all mounted so high up on the walls that my 9 year old had a hard time reaching any of them. The pool is a joke. The pictures of this hotel are extensively “embellished”. Valet-only parking is convenient but also inconvenient at the same time because if you decide to leave during the busy hours be prepared to wait a bit for your turn to request your car. No self parking/street parking. Guests lying around the lobby waiting for all their wet sneakers to dry in front of the industrial fans while you walk through wet sneakers and feet smell to get to the elevators. Needless to say we will not be staying here again.

Favorite place is Favorite Son

Kahai F on Apr 06, 2026

Recently discovered Favorite Son, and it was a pleasant surprise. The decor and overall vibe are relaxed and welcoming. They serve excellent coffee along with a full bar, making it a great spot for both work and socializing. The free 3hr valet parking is a big plus and really seals the deal. This will definitely be my go-to spot for getting work done and meeting up with friends. Highly recommended!
