Camino Real Zaashila Huatulco is unique in design with a contemporary Mediterranean style. The property is surrounded by an astonishing natural setting with a swimming pool like no other that's 120 metres in length with an amazing view of the bay and blue waters of the Pacific ocean.
Mediocre room. Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Mediocre beach. And, worst of all, mediocre management.
The beach faces north, which means you get neither the majesty of a sunrise nor the glory of an ocean sunset.
Most of the beach is a minefield of broken shells, which means walking barefoot is both uncomfortable and painful. Additionally, the beach has a strong undercurrent, resulting in only the most confident and comfortable swimmers being able to play or cool off in the ocean.
There is no coffee maker in the room. And when they bring you one, the electrical cord is too short to reach the outlet. So it has to be placed on the floor to make coffee.
Service staff frequently get orders wrong. The food is bland, so we ended up eating out every night (which was a wonderful experience as Huatulco has many fabulous restaurants).
The massage service in the spa was excellent. Of course, this is a third-party provider and therefore above the property's standards.
The rooms are comfortable, but not elegant. This property is definitely showing its 20-year age.
If Ramada Inn and Best Western are your idea of comfort and value, then the Camino Real may be for you. But if your standards and desires for a memorable holiday are greater, there are much better options than this mediocre resort.

This was a great resort and the staff was amazing! The food was a little on the pricey side and they don't offer all inclusive but I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. My fiance definitely want to go back and we can't wait.
