It's been about 4 months since my husband and I went for a 10 day trip to Puerto Escondido, and it's still left me with all the happy vacation vibes! Enough that I am taking my son for a trip in December. It is a great location to just hang out and chill, especially down at the beach club during the day. Getting there: As we flew into Huatulco (no option to fly to Puerto Escondido for other than one week increments), we had a shuttle that was a 2 hour adventure both to and from the resort. Unsure of the condition of the road right now, but there is major roadworks, hopefully that will be paved soon! It is a bumpy gravel road right now, you can see that it is going to be great when complete. Westjet has changed their schedule for direct flights to Puerto Escondido to Saturdays (fall 2026). The resort is 5 minutes from PXM. Resort: Lots of good, a few notes good, and some inconsistencies. - Grounds Immaculately kept grounds, with seating area up top to watch the sun go down. There is also a putting green, a number of great places to sit, whether up in the lobby area or in the main green space, or down in the restaurant. They are adding balconies to all of the inside courtyard pool view rooms, was in progress while we were there. - Pools The main pool up in the courtyard area is right off of the restaurant. It can get somewhat noisy, and the kids pool is also in that area. The beach club is the gem! Always able to get a lounger, no having to go down at 6 am to find a spot. Main pool closes at 7pm, and I believe the beach club pool closes at 6pm. You can go down to the beach club prior to the 10am opening time, you just are not allowed to go into the pool, and there is no bar service before 10am either. Going to and from the beach club - there is a shuttle both ways, but we chose to walk down the stairs when we went in the mornings and took the shuttle back up. It is a bit steep in some spots, and no handrails (with very slanted areas) definitely exercise caution! You can access the stairs from the ocean view side of the hotel (not outside the top at the lobby) and it is less than 5 minutes to go down. Facing out from the restaurant area, you can walk through the lower level of the hotel through the hallway, or go around the outside of the rooms to the left. - Bars/Entertainment There is a duo that is at the hotel during dinnertime a few nights a week. Generally a quiet resort (no midnight parties!). They were revamping the lobby area to create a sports bar while we were there, unsure if it will be open when we go in December. Although the lobby bar was there, it was not open at any time we were there. Also, a palapa bar on the main lawn area, again, unsure when it was actually open, or if it was ever open. There is a small bar at the bottom of the stairs from the lobby, right beside the restaurant. It can get busy right at dinner time when everyone is getting their dinner drinks. The bar in the beach club is large, with hammock chairs (look fun, but super uncomfortable to sit in). Great service though at both. The infinity pool area is fantastic, with great staff and bar service (they come to you, unlike the other 2). Be aware the lobby bar shuts after dinner (around 10pm). - Restaurants The main restaurant is in the hotel below the lobby. It is a buffet, there are no a la carte evening options. Food is fabulous, just be aware, as it is a resort with many nationals, it is very Mexican food oriented. Now for me, I love it all, but for others it may be an issue. There was always a hot grill station every evening with traditional Mexican food - thing tlaudas, quesadillas, grilled meats, all served on different tortillas. Mornings provided omelettes as well as a full buffet with fresh fruits, hot items and more. Lunches we ate mainly at the beach club, or in the premium area with the infinity pool. The a la carte at the beach club was great! The buffet also looked very good, but we really only had that 1 time over the 10 days for lunch. The infinity pool area also has a snack bar, with lovely fish tacos, chicken fingers (honestly some of the best I've ever had anywhere), pizza, burgers, nachos... great for lunch or late afternoon snack. - Rooms Decently clean, with comfortable beds. These rooms are very... basic. one piece of generic artwork, only 1 chair in the room. Desk area (I often end up doing some work on vacation). Good wifi. Fluorescent lighting throughout, no beside lamps (need to bring something of your own if you're a late night reader like I am with someone else sleeping next to you). We did upgrade on arrival (I didn't want a room with just a window, and the communication prior to arrival was terrible) even though what was indicated on our booking was NOT a room with just a window. Was the terrace/balcony worth it? Absolutely. We were at ground level, but there were no issues with bugs. It was nice to sit outside with our coffee in the morning. Coffee and coffee makers are provided in the rooms (no coffee available before 7am). There were 2 chairs and a small table on our terrace. As I mentioned, they are adding a balconies to many of the rooms that did not have them before. Gardenview rooms only have a single window, so that is something to take into consideration. There are water coolers outside in the hallways to refill your water bottle which is a really nice touch. - Staff We had many great interactions with the staff in various parts of the resort. Most were very kind, helpful and easy to talk to. The front desk staff was... challenging. Not particularly helpful. That also goes back to my previous enquiries before arriving at the resort (starting more than a month before) where messages were not answered, replied to in all caps, or even just ignored. I did translate into Spanish as well, so it's not like I didn't try to work with them. Overall I would (and am going to!!) stay again at this cute and charming resort. As the only all inclusive currently in Puerto Escondido, it is a great option. Small enough to feel intimate, great for families, couples... there were 3 weddings during the time we were there as well. It is quiet in the evenings, if you're looking for a party scene, this is not the place.

Like to say, this is our first time to Pasada Real in Puerto Escondido and won't be our last. To those that are considering going, first thing you should know. Westjet only flies directly to Puerto Escondido on Fridays, so try to book for that day, otherwise you will have to take the 2 hour drive from Huatulco. As far as the resort, it is an older resort, but they are currently working on improvments in many areas of the buildings. Yes, there is a bit of a language barrier, as the area of Puerto Escondido is a smaller tourist destination and many of the staff try hard to communicate. Although I think alot of tourists could make an effort to learn some basic spainsh when traveling to their country. The staff at the resort are some of the hardest working people I have encountered in my travels. The manager at the front desk (Abal) was a great help when there were some communication problems. When we got there, we were given a room without a balconey, which was what we expected as that is what we paid for, but the condiditon of the room was great and kept clean. If you want a balconey, make sure you book it when you book your vacation. Probably the best part of the resort is the Cocos beach club. It has a good size pool and lots of beach chairs available through out the day and one of the nicest beaches in the world. The food is limited, but understandably so as it is a smaller resort and with a small amount of guests, they need to avoid food waste. If you are considering booking here, I would really consider doing it sooner than later, as the area of Puerto Escondido is becoming more popular and with a expansion on the airport is going to become a sought after destinaion.

Spent ten days here with my partner in March 2026. The location is perfect, short walk to town for meals, treats, local shopping. Less than 10km from Zicatela (pro-surf beach) and literally next door to Carazalillo (beginner beach). Very family friendly resort, no late night parties. The room was great - air conditioning was perfect, beds were comfortable and the room was cleaned spotless daily. The staff are incredible, the buffet was good, on par for other resorts. The pool is gorgeous, the grounds immaculately maintained. The beach club is a blast. Excellent value for the price. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

We were here for a week from February 20th to February 20th. We paid $1500 pp so we knew this was going to be a resort without anything fancy. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the A/C worked great. There are 2 areas to this resort. The main area up top where the hotel is and the lower area by the beach. The main area has a buffet, bar and two pools. The buffet isn't very big but we always managed to find something we liked and they had different themes throughout the week. Breakfast was typical Mexican food with the option of omelets custom made for you. Our favorite theme dinner was the Italian night with the pizza and lasagna being our favorite items. The resort shows 3 bars on the main level but only one by the buffet was ever open. The lower area has a restaurant and bar that is open from 11 to 6. From 11 till 2 you order off the menu and from 2 till 6 they have a buffet. We had the Fish tacos, hamburger, hotdogs and nachos off the menu and they were all pretty good but we really enjoyed the fish tacos, they were very tasty. They only had one bartender on at a time and they were always accommodating and friendly. We found all the staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The only entertainment they had was some live music 3 times during the week. There's no pool entertainment or evening shows here which was fine for us because for what we paid we had no problem walking 10 minutes into town and spending some money for entertainment as well as a few meals for dinner. Just remember there's nothing fancy, its a basic resort at a reasonable price for the services provided.

Well... Run down place . Need some TLC. Pool tiles are missing... They have strange and stupid rules. Ex.: was there 2 weeks... Everytime you order something they ask you for your room number... Annoying... And I have premium access... Not even worth it for another $110 USD a day that you have to pay....brutal. Dinner not before 7pm...and only 1 option. No varieties No real a la carte. Repetitive food. Ive sent 4 emails before going there.... No reply. Few days no power outlet work in the room. No activities, no gym no animations.No one really speak English. Please avoid.
