Fitness Centre closed for the entire two week stay

Very disappointed that the Fitness Centre was closed. Apparently it had been closed for a very long time before. This would have been good to know at booking. I was at the pool different times of the day and never saw the staff checking the water for contaminants.
Great for Familes

We arrived late at night and went to the front desk to inquire about getting some bottled water as our condo didn't provide a stocked mini bar. There was none...not even a vending machine on site. The front desk told us we had to go to Safeway as that was the nearest 24 hour store...which was about a 10 min drive away. Not a big deal except after a 7 hour flight it would of been nice to have some water and not have to drive around at midnight in search of some. The condo was dated but fairly clean and well stocked with dishes, towels, beach chairs, etc...everything you need except food of course. My only other complaint was that there was only a air conditioning unit in the living room and not the bedroom. It was too hot to sleep some nights. There was more families vacationing here than just couples. Definitely a good area for families as the grounds were huge and lots of nice grassy areas to play on. We never went in the pool as it was pretty small and occupied by lots of kids. The beach is directly across the street. Not the nicest beach on the Island but great for wading around in. I'd definitely stay here again if I went with my grandkids but as far as a couple we'd probably go somewhere that was a little more adult oriented. You definitely need to be self sufficient ( stocked for groceries, etc...) not even a Cafe on site. There is restaurants near by...closest one about a 5 minute walk down the street. Other than that it's a nice place. The grounds are beautiful!

We had the most enjoyable stay and absolutely loved Castle Sands! We are looking forward to our next visit. The view of the beach and location is one of the best in Maui. We highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a stay in Maui and will definitely return!

The only good thing about this resort are the beautiful grounds and proximity to the beach. We have stayed at Kamaole Sands twice in the last five years. The first time was in building 5. This unit was old and dirty. We could not use the second bathroom shower because of mold. When we opened the shower door it hung on one hinge. The unit was dark and dreary. This visit we choose building four. We were on the third floor near the end. The unit had been updated and looked like it was well looked after when we first walked in. Unfortunately this was not the case as we eventually found bedbugs in the master bed. Aside from this, was the unending noise from the street that the lanai faced. The traffic was never ending. It was even worse than when we stayed facing South Kihei road in a different complex. Then there was the question of resort fees. Since we rented directly from an owner, why charge resort fees since they are already paying for parking and amenities through their fees. The fee is a monthly one and it not prorated. If you even stay one day you will pay for the whole month. This is a money grab. We will never stay here again.

We arrived to be charged cleaning fees that were not included on the booking confirmation. In addition to resort fees and admin fees. The room itself had a time on the air conditioners (causing the room to get uncomfortably warm in the middle of the night and also hot to come back to after a day out. Internet was slow and didn’t reach to certain areas of the condo. We had a nice time but get ripped off and overpaid after all fees were added to the nightly room rate. We’re stuck paying the hidden fees because our large deposit we paid to book was non refundable by this point. Disappointing.
