Very bad experience

Jiahui Y on May 18, 2025

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent stay at the MGM Grand Hotel from May 13th to May 17th. As a loyal Platinum member of Marriott and a timeshare owner, I have consistently enjoyed my experiences at Marriott properties and have often recommended them to friends and colleagues. However, my recent visit has left me deeply dissatisfied, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. While I appreciated the upgrade I received upon check-in, several issues significantly marred my stay, leading me to reconsider any future visits to your establishment. Firstly, due to my original reservation being made by a friend, I checked out on May 16th and rechecked in the same day for an additional night. During the interim period between check-out and re-check-in, I requested to store my luggage. The first bellboy informed me there was no charge for luggage storage, but his tone and demeanor made it clear that a gratuity was expected. With one hand on my luggage and the other extended for a tip, I felt pressured to comply. Lacking smaller bills, I reluctantly gave a $50 tip. Later, when I retrieved my luggage after my room was ready, another bellboy repeated the same behavior, again extending his hand for a gratuity. Despite already tipping earlier, I felt coerced to give an additional $50, as it seemed my luggage would not be returned otherwise. This left me feeling exploited, particularly since my carry-on luggage was minimal and lightweight. Such behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. Upon entering my room, I was shocked to find women’s shoes, clothing, and alcoholic beverages left on the floor. Concerned for both my safety and the privacy of other guests, I immediately reported the situation to the front desk. Although the staff efficiently switched me to another room and mentioned an upgrade, there was no apology for the inconvenience caused. Moreover, the tone used when informing me of the upgrade felt condescending, as though I was being granted a favor or charity. I had not requested an upgrade, and if it was meant as a gesture of goodwill, it should not have been delivered in such a dismissive manner. To further compound my dissatisfaction, the room adjacent to mine was undergoing renovations between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM, resulting in continuous noise disruptions. I documented the disturbance with video evidence, as the noise made it impossible to rest or relax. I had planned to take a nap during this time, but the incessant noise forced me to leave the room, making my stay even more uncomfortable. In conclusion, my experience at the MGM Grand Hotel was highly disappointing. As a loyal customer, I expect far better service and accommodations from an establishment of your caliber. Regrettably, this stay has led me to reconsider any future visits to your property.

A big rip off.

Nice room, but buying absolutely anything here makes an airport feel cheap. It's become beyond ridiculous. Spending close to $50 for a generic breakfast sandwich and coffee for each of us is insulting, especially when we are not afraid to drop $10k in the casino. The strip clearly only cares about truly rich foreigners at this point, message received.
