A Great Stay at MGM Grand

artbaker1985 (Plano, Texas) on Sep 03, 2024

I had a pleasant stay at MGM Grand. This was not my first time staying at an MGM propert; however, it was my first time staying at MGM Grand. The rooms were very clean and all of the staff were extremely polite and professional. The pool and lazy river had great vibes and there were not too many kids, which was nice for us adults at the pool. The blackjack dealers were very hospitable and communicative, which made the tables and games much more fun than a non-communicative dealer. All my requests were provided promptly and the restaurants were great as well! I highly enjoyed my trip and cannot wait to return and stay at MGM Grand again!

Expensive, Confusing, and Disappointing.

MGM Grand used to be my go to for Las Vegas. Not anymore. Not sure what the thought process is here but they are really letting this property go to seed. It’s really strange because the room we had was actually nice - clean, well appointed, and roomy. But as soon as you step out of your room prepare to be disappointed. We had a room in the Studio tower. The elevator bank for that tower is way at the opposite end of the main entrance to the tower. So we walked forever to get to the studio tower, walked forever to get to the elevators, then walked forever to get to our room. Trying to find your way around the hotel is a challenge. We saw three maps - all located in really inconvenient locations. Would it be so hard to provide maps in the room or more of them? Breakfast was disappointing - all restaurants participating in breakfast did a minimum, uninteresting version of breakfast including Wolfgang Pucks. Walking around there are tons of boarded up sections of the hotel and empty storefront. Instead of advertising what’s coming soon it’s just blank and obtrusive. I came up on an art piece in the hotel done by one of my favorite artists. It was unlit, not being taken care of, and tucked into a weird hallway. But it was at the pool was where I started hating the hotel. It was over 100 degrees but you have to pay for seating with shade - $120 for two lounge chairs. Obviously the hotel could care less about its guests to not even provide shaded areas for free. And good luck finding the seats you paid for - the chairs are not marked and the receptionist that’s supposed to help you goes missing in action for long period of times. The lazy river is best done on floaties - but don’t buy them here! The pool’s tubes start at $30. Besides the actual water, the only good thing the hotel provided here was excellent wait staff who were very quick to take your order for ridiculously expensive food and drinks. Gone are the references to MGM movies. Now when you enter from the parking garage you’re met with a Subway sandwich shop and other fast food.

Great Experience

First time staying at MGM but not first time staying in LV. I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and comfortable room, along with view. Customer service was outstanding as well.
