Had problems throughout the weekend. Spent a ton of money on a large block of rooms. Staff was unable or unwilling to help resolve issues

Problem encountered, problem solved.

There was an issue with the apparatus that we had brought with us for the lazy river, and as a result we had to purchase the tubes from MGM which were not reasonably priced at all. I went to hotel services and explained nicely that there was nothing on the website that said mesh was prohibited in the pools and relayed my dissatisfaction with that. Andrew at hotel services was wonderful. He credited us the money back for the tubes and other charges that I wasn’t expecting. Andrew was kind, courteous and everything that someone working in customer service. should be. As far as the rooms and the property itself, was clean nicely done comfortably relaxing. All the staff were excellent. As far as the complaints about it being pricey, it is the MGM Grand and, yes, you do get what you pay for. All in all an excellent experience. Johanna

I would never stay there again. Again check in not bad, check out awful, no coffee pit in room, no fridge, no microwave. Nothing and you charge for everything

MGM Grand Review This was our second visit to the MGM Grand, but unfortunately, we found it quite disappointing compared to our first stay. In fact, we actually wished we had booked Hotel New York instead, as the atmosphere at the MGM felt very flat. There was very little vibe or energy, especially compared with the much livelier atmosphere at Hotel New York. Check-in was disappointing from the start. There was no real welcome from the receptionist, who came across as nonchalant, with no personality and very little eye contact. Overall, we didn’t find the staff here particularly polished or welcoming. Prices throughout the hotel were expensive, especially the minibar in the room. Our room, however, was a positive. It had excellent, modern decor and was extremely clean. There was a TV, great air conditioning and everything you would expect from a modern hotel room. Toiletries were provided, including shampoo, conditioner and body wash, as well as an iron and ironing board and a good hairdryer, so there’s no need to pack these items. The room was cleaned every day and we were provided with fresh towels. The only real downside was the lack of storage space. We also spent some time around the pool, which was a big let-down. Sun umbrellas were not provided unless you paid extra for the padded loungers — a big con in our opinion! Considering how hot Las Vegas is in August, we thought it was very poor that basic shade wasn’t available for everyone. The pool bar was also expensive, although they did provide free water, which felt a little ironic given the prices of everything else! The bar staff didn’t come across as particularly professional and didn’t look especially tidy. To make matters worse, the sun loungers themselves were dirty. The bars inside the hotel were also expensive. At one of them, I was even served wine in a little box, which certainly wasn’t what I expected! There was also an issue when my son tried to enter the nightclub. He was refused entry because he wasn’t wearing trousers, despite the fact that girls were being allowed in wearing very little. We found this quite frustrating and felt the dress-code policy seemed inconsistent. Overall, we definitely wouldn’t return to the MGM Grand. For us, Hotel New York had a much better atmosphere, along with friendlier and more welcoming staff. Considering this was our second visit to the MGM, we were particularly disappointed that the experience didn’t live up to our first stay. We have stayed in many four, five star hotels and this is the first that doesn’t give anything to the guests for example a complimentary bottle of water, tea and coffee facilities, pretzels with a drink etc. they just take as much as they can from the guest.
