New York, New York - Just Know Before You Go
DCC15 (Somerset, New Jersey) on Apr 18, 2026
The room was clean which is the most important factor to me, however, amenities are few. I was really surprised that a hotel that big and busy would not have more to offer it's guest. There were no shower caps, no microwave, no refrigerator, not even the small coffee pot and supplies which I am accustomed to. The option was a Starbucks in the lobby and I would rather drink turpentine. The TV had no free streaming of anything. I requested a different room and was advised that I would need to stay in the current room until the next day because they had no other rooms available and that my reservation did call for a different side of the hotel but they couldn't change it right then. Mind you the registration area was empty. My view consisted of the back of the roller coaster, the side walls of the building and the roof top of the lower level.
Better than expected ??

I am pleasantly surprised, which is not the norm for an avid traveler. The rooms could benefit from the intended mini fridge, and a $20 coffee maker (as most resorts in Vegas, unfortunately for us who don't want to spend 40min to get to Starbucks and back. Speaking of Sbucks...there are at least a couple on the main floor). Comfy bed and pillows, great views, no coffee, looong hallways, great staff! As stated, Better than expected! It is a very positive yet honest review.
Awesome!

Stayed at NYNY for the first time (second time in Vegas). Hotel/casino was great. The rooms were clean and spacious- we even had a couch in our room. Housekeeping came daily which was nice. My only complaint is that a coffee maker would be nice. It's such a basic essential that I was shocked they didn't have it. I'm spending hundreds of dollars a day there and yet a simple coffee in the morning before going downstairs wasn't an option. So that was disappointing. The food was awesome- we ate at Chin Chin for dinner which was AMAZING. The pizza at Sirrcos (?) was a delicious late night treat. We also ate at Tom's Watch Bar and Nine Fine Irishmen- both very good. Main reason I liked NYNY was because it was so central and had seating outside- we walked so far down the strip and no other hotel that we saw had this option - sometimes it's nice to just hang out with a drink outside and people watch. The pool was nice and the casino in general was fun! Would definitely choose this hotel again next time.
I don’t want to be any part of it.

I have mixed feelings about my stay at New York, New York. On the positive side, the hotel’s "NYC" atmosphere is fun, the property is full of great restaurants, and the room service was excellent. I ordered the steak and eggs with orange juice; it was delicious and delivered incredibly fast. I was also upgraded to a nicer room on a high floor, which was a kind gesture. However, the service was severely lacking: • Check-in Chaos: Only four receptionists for a massive hotel. I waited two hours for my room to be ready in a chaotic lobby. • Maintenance & Amenities: No refrigerator in the room was a major inconvenience. When I asked for extra towels (to avoid housekeeping entering), it took 3 hours for them to arrive. • Billing Issues: I used the express checkout dropbox, but two weeks later, I still haven't received my email receipt. Most concerningly, I was overcharged by $100 with no explanation. It’s strange they can email a room service receipt instantly but can't send the final folio. Despite the cool ambiance, the property feels dated during the day. With so many other MGM/Marriott options nearby, I won’t be returning
Terrible Check In Experience

My husband and I have stayed at New York New York several times in the past and have always enjoyed our stay. However, that was not the case recently. We arrived March 28, 2026, with friends. We had an early flight, so we decided to pay $20 for an early check in so we could go to our room as soon we got there. The front desk said our room wasn't ready, and we ended up waiting a few hours for our room while our friends got into their room immediately, and they didn't pay for an early check in. I went to the room that was being assigned to us and discovered that our room had been cleaned hours ago. Either the housekeeper forgot to tell the front desk it was ready or the front desk was making our situation difficult for some reason. It was a horrible way to start our vacation with friends. Management needs to take a closer look at their check in process and personnel.
