TRAVEL AGENT REVIEW

Doxie L on Feb 13, 2025

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION : SAVE YOURSELF AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE I am travel agent so I wont recommend it I know its long but worth the read: I really want this hotel to succeed but this is why I am here and hopefully this brand can learn from this. For the hotel , please take this as a way to find ways of improving the experience here. The rooms are beautiful and the staff is great. The rules and policies of the hotel are not. Mind you I also work for a hotel as a concierge service coordinator in the States on top being a group sales -travel agent. Pool is beautiful. Spas for rooms are a great added touch I am a high volume travel agent in the US and brought with me a fellow travel agent to experience this hotel. For one, I will be honest, this was a 2 day complimentary stay so I can experience what this brand hotel has to offer. From the reviews, I ended up adding an extra day before arrival. One of my emails before my arrival was to ask if there was a complimentary shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The email was returned with a higher price than a third party would offer. They wanted a 128 price for one way up to 4 people. I ended up using a 3rd party that was half the amount for 2 people round trip. When dropped off, my fellow agent and I were greeted well with a glass of wine from France. We sat down to check in. This really felt like I was going to have a VIP experience as they should be treating every guest. I felt as if this would set the tone to our stay. The front desk demanded a credit card on file but refused to use my debit card. Mind you, I have stayed in many places around the world and this to my surprise was a first. -- This did not sit well with me. I thought to myself , "what if I sent a client who did not have a credit card as most people now use a digital wallet?" This would be a big embarrasment not only as an agent but for humiliating for a possible. Would they have to switch hotels if they didn't have a credit card on them? How would this have been resolved if since they are not locals? This is not good While checking in, I am told that everything in my room will be charged to the credit card if I take anything. It just keeps getting worse. The hotel is noisy, you can hear everything. I dismissed this because, hey it can happen and I can pretty much sleep through anything, however, it isnt about me, its about how a client of mine would feel. Doors slam super loud , IF you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. You can hear the neighbors toilet flush. I venture out and visit places and connect for excursions and such with other third parties because I figured why not support the locals. The next morning, we have my "American Breakfast" and 2 coffees. Despite I have given them the room number we are in twice, they charge for your coffee on the spot. I told the server I am in (room number). So, here is my thing. What is the point of charging incidentals using the credit card on file if I cant even give them my room number to charge my room? What if because I am used to every hotel in the world who does this "didnt bring my wallet" downstairs to eat? I was so confused. Can they remind me why even take a CC on file if I cant even charge it to my room number? Do we have to inconvenience ourselves to go up to our rooms to get a wallet. Luckily for us, we were on our way out of town after breakfast, but what if we werent? It does not make sense to me whatsoever! Ventured out again with the locals and return in the evening. I went to the front desk to ask if I can take my "American Breakfast " to my room. Get this, I was told we would be charged full price if we did that. I said I was not asking for delivery I just want to eat on my balcony like I enjoy this experience as I do with every stay I have been in. Every hotel has never had an issue. Again I was told I would be charged full price even if I order it from the restaurant. Now I am fairly upset. IT wasnt until I sent a message on my phone of a complaint that I was able to get to my breakfast to my room. I shouldnt have to do this nor should guests if I send one here. So you mean, I cant use the incidentals to order food nor my room number. Would I book anyone here? With so many hotels around the whole Cabo and people from around the world, this hotel is a hard sell. There are better valued places in Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas than here. There's plenty of potential but needs to improve against their surrounding competition. What makes matters worse are the unprofessional responses towards negative reviews. Those speak for themselves instead of being apologetic, or find ways of delivering a better experience to the next guest, it fails. Pros : Bartenders at the pool area are amazing Greeting with a wine Sit down experience for checking in message chat for questions beautiful pool nice spas for some rooms rooms are nice Cons: no views cant enjoy your balcony unless you pay extra for it credit card only for incidentals--but you cant use it cant use your room number to charge your breakfast or anything no complimentary shuttle and completely over priced no explication of amenities or things offered at the hotel

Highly recommended

We cannot recommend Bahia Hotel and Beach House enough. We did not plan to go to San Lucas. However, a family emergency brought us to the city. We picked the hotel because of the location and it turned out to be the best part of our quick trip. The staff were friendly, well trained, easy to work with, and helpful with our situation. We had to add a night and they accommodated us quickly. The beach club was an added surprise. The restaurant was better than the restaurants we had experienced in CDMX. Thanks to the staff and management for a very pleasant stay in the midst of a family emergency. Someday we will come back to experience the hotel and beach club just for the fun of it!

They only want to squeeze your $$$

Roving02404437684 (Columbus, Ohio) on Feb 09, 2025

I could not be more displeased with my experience at Bahia. The management team was only focused on getting money and not customer experience. They refused to work with me on travel issues and charged full price for a night I could not use. They were continually uncooperative and Jesus G specially refused to help. In addition the rooms were loud and you can easily hear your neighbors all night. The doors didn't not have slow closing ability so they constantly slammed. You also had a view of an ugly construction area of or concrete pool area, both were unattractive options. Everything in the room had a charge. It felt focused on squeezing money from the guests was the priority and not focused on service. I would recommend finding better options than Bahia.

We were at Bahia hotel and resort for 5 nights at check in Alex really took care of us . At the bar and restaurant Sandra always took care at breakfast and Orlando at the dinner time. The only thing was lacking the replenish of coffee pods and tea in the room. Other wise great place to stay.
