Wonderful resort in a great location.

MB554 (Chilliwack) on Jan 26, 2023

This resort was a wonderful choice. Check in and out were very quick and the welcome sangria was delicious. We travelled with 2 other couples and loved our time there. We wanted to give a big shout out to Chef Dorian Morales and server Alejandra Miranda in the Vista Bellenas. The food and service were exceptional. They made our party of 6 feel like we were the most important people in the resort when they let us customize a dinner. Lucero in the Suspiro Bar was our favourite server and provided exceptional service and a smile every time we were there. Sakke restaurant was the best Teppanyaki we have had. We have been vacationing in Mexico for over 12 years and the Marquis had the best food! If you are traveling there in January or February, bring wormer clothing for the evenings. The wind and sea air can get very cool in the evenings but the days were mostly sunny warm.

Wonderful experience and amazing staff

We had an excellent stay at the Marquis! The staff was amazing and attentive to all of our needs. The breakfast staff was always on top of their game. The host, Adriana, remembered our family by name and always took the time to check in on us. Elsie seated us in the perfect spot every morning with an amazing view and Jaime was a great server! The whole resort is very clean we very much enjoyed the food. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a place to stay.

Very good stay at the Marquis, Los Cabos ... but

Jackie H (Osage Beach, Missouri) on Jan 25, 2023

This was our first stay at the Marquis. We have been to Cabo two years in a row and stayed at the LeBlanc on our first trip. I love, love to be in the water. I called the Marquis to ask if one of their pools was heated prior to booking and they confirmed yes the center pool was heated. During our entire 7 day stay the pool was not heated. In fact, none of them were heated. The food was good but the buffet food was only warm. Not hot. The Asian restaurant was great. Room service -- the food arrived only slightly warm. I guess i prefer my food to be hot. The entertainment was good and always included a buffet meal. The breakfast buffet was good with a nice selection of food. The poolside restaurant/Italian in the evening was nice. The Asian restaurant had great food. The drinks were good but always ordered a double. No chocolate martinis or high end drinks available. The ocean front room was beautiful with amazing views. The room was large and very comfortable. The staff were always very friendly and went out of their way to please you. This is also a very clean property. The staff work hard. If you don't care about the temperature of the pool water during the winter season, this is a nice relaxing place to stay. If you like buffets and aren't particularly picky about your food being piping hot, your will love the Marquis. And if you aren't looking for a top shelf drink menu, I would definitely stay here. As a side note, the wi-fi was terrible. Very spotty. You are asked to take a picture of their code to access the menus, activities, etc. but that mostly did not work. You can ask for a paper copy at the desk which worked the best.

Good food, Friendly Staff, Cold Pools

radema4234 (Greenville, South Carolina) on Jan 25, 2023

Staff is one of the many positives of this resort. EVERYONE, at every level was very nice and helpful. Coffee is a big deal to me- it’s easy to get and delicious here. Pati, Anlly and Jaqueline in the coffee shop were super and a pleasure to see each morning. Elsie and Aelnana were amazing hostesses at the restaurants. We always engage the activities staff at resorts we visit. This crew was great. Angel took us on a beach walk and even swam in the sea of Cortez with us. Esmeralda was an awesome teammate for beach volleyball. Urial played basketball with us. And another girl I cannot remember her name took us downtown to the Art Walk- highly recommend. Wine and tequila tasting, Spanish lessons, Corn Hole, pickle ball, etc. We were always happy we said yes when asked if we wanted to participate in an activity. Food was consistently very good. We tried room service, breakfast and dinner buffets, and the restaurants. All great. Make reservations and take advantage of the restaurants. It's worth it. Even the food ordered from the servers at the pool was fantastic. The guacamole was so rich it tasted like there was butter in it! (there wasn't, just really good avocados ). We ordered the the Ravioli at Pergola three times it was so yummy! The shrimp at the hibachi was so good even my husband ate all of his and he normally does not like shrimp. And try the stuffed pepper for lunch at Vista Ballenas! P.S. The house wine at this resort was better than the house wine at Secrets and El Dorado in our opinion. Rooms were tidied nicely twice per day. We never had to call and ask for towels or anything. Tips are not required of course, but the staff deserve it IMO. They are working very hard and do their jobs well. Please consider bringing lots of 1's, 5's, 10's and 20's to show appreciation and generosity. Only thing we would change is the cold pools. There were vents at the bottom of the central pool you could feel some warm water coming out, so I know they had the ability to heat it, but it was not enough to make it comfortable. Very few people in the pools at all. I think more people would have participated in pool volleyball and aqua aerobics and enjoyed the Infiniti pool if they cranked up those hot water vents. I mean it is January....... If not now then when? Still, all of the positives of this resort were enough to outweigh the cold pools and still give a 5 star rating.

Don’t stay here.

Emtko (San Francisco, California) on Jan 25, 2023

Don’t do it. They can not fix a mistake and I will not recommend them. They have had over two months to issue a refund for a missing transportation set up by the concierge and charged to our room. Regardless of how good the stay was we have been battling with them since we left to get the refund. It has taken countless calls and still no sign of a solution. They are not even disputing the fact that they owe us a refund they just can not figure out how to get the refund to us and one person is blaming the next. Its ridiculous!! The lesson learned is that as long everything is good, its good. But if there is any kind of an error, they can not fix it. Don’t worry Marquis. After this huge blunder we will not be back and I will not recommend anyone else stay there.
