Stunningly beautiful relaxing resort on a quiet beach with whale watching from your chair!

Playa Grande resort is one of the most beautiful, relaxing and pristine resorts I have been to in many years! I have never stayed at a resort where ALL of the employees are so friendly and welcoming and some even remembering our names. Since the first day we arrived, Leylani and Rodrigo from the Entertainment staff greeted us with a “good morning Laurie and Kevin”, and sometimes even a hug. Their energy and warmth are truly special. The activities are great, and the twice a week resort dinners are wonderful because Roberto is hilarious and so entertaining. This resort is on a very quiet part of the beach and you can watch boats and whales go by all day long. So relaxing! The restaurants here are wonderful as well! I HIGHLY recommend this resort!
Beautiful resort, but with excessive noise!

I recently stayed at Playa Grande in Cabo in a two-bedroom Presidential Suite. The food was excellent, the staff was professional and attentive, the beach is beautiful, and the property is well maintained. The restaurants were a highlight and overall the resort has many strengths. Unfortunately, my experience was significantly impacted by the location of my suite in the Ridge building facing the marina. The noise was constant and excessive, 24 hours a day, and honestly quite shocking for a resort of this caliber. There is a hike-with-dogs business next door with nonstop barking. Sea lions in the marina bark day and night. Diesel trucks and traffic pass regularly. From the east side of the building, there was also a loud, continuous mechanical noise — likely generators or equipment rooms — running at all hours. In addition, pounding club music played until approximately 3:00 AM every night and sounded as though it was directly outside my room. I did not get proper sleep for seven consecutive nights because of the constant noise. It genuinely felt like staying in the middle of a large city rather than at a beach resort. I have traveled extensively throughout Mexico and the Caribbean and have never experienced this level of sustained noise at a resort. For a vacation at this price point, not being able to rest due to extreme noise pollution is unacceptable. I went to the front desk multiple times requesting a room change and was told it was not possible. After speaking with other guests in the same building, I learned they were experiencing similar issues and were also unable to move. The distance from the Ridge building to the main pool area is another important consideration. The walk includes two hills, two elevators, and 32 stairs — approximately eight minutes each way. While I am physically fit and can manage it, it is not accessible for elderly guests or those with mobility concerns. We also observed families with children struggling with the elevation changes. If you return to your room and then go back to the pool, you are losing close to 30 minutes of your day. In the heat and with multiple trips, this becomes significant. Additionally, my suite overlooked a garbage dump, which is not an acceptable view for a Presidential Suite at this price point. Because room placement is not guaranteed and guests may be assigned to the Ridge building without notice, I would not book here again. While the resort has many positive qualities, the risk of being placed in such a noisy and inconvenient location outweighs them.
