Overrated!

We expected so much more from this resort. We purchased a week’s stay after having to go through an ownership presentation back in 2024. The resort is clean. We were promised an ocean view room. Sitting on the balcony, you cannot see the ocean. If you stand and look over the large tree and other buildings, you can catch a glimpse of the ocean off in the distance. During the week that we stayed, the resort was filled to their capacity, or so it seemed. Each morning we had to get up at 4am to go down to the pool area and sit on a chaise to reserve it for the day. It was supposed to be relaxing, far from it. There are not enough umbrellas to go around. We had ours taken from us in the afternoon by one of the pool attendants which was given to another guest. I’ve never experienced that before at any other resort. The drinks were poured inconsistently. I ordered the same drink twice and they were totally different. Same bartender. The restaurant options are limited and the buffets are not chef quality. One night we had reservations at Pitahayas and I ordered a filet medium rare. After I waited almost 45 minutes, it was brought out medium well. The waiter did offer to have another one made, but at this point it was past 9 pm and I didn’t feel like waiting another 15-30 minutes. We did the all inclusive for 5 days, however that doesn’t get you access to De Cortez as they require a $35 pp surcharge to even enter the place. During our stay, I was injured and was forced to use a walker to get around. Handicapped access is extremely limited as you cannot wheel a walker across many of the pavers and stone surfaces that are in many of the common areas. Stairs only to get to the pool areas. For the $3000 that we spent for the accommodations and the all inclusive, I would not recommend this resort.
Lack of available pool chairs!

The resort is stunning and it has amazing pools, but unfortunately, there are not enough chairs for the guests and guests seem to be allowed to throw towels on a chair and not come back all day and reserve them so that others can’t find a seat. This needs to be managed to much better!

We had a great experience! Great resort that was right on the beach with very friendly staff. We especially enjoyed the friendliness and support from Oliver Carrillo who was our Bellman!
Lovely resort experience

This was our first trip to Cabo, we felt this resort to be beautiful and very representative of the Mexican culture. The staff was particularly friendly and welcoming, especially Oliver Carrillo, who was our bellman when we arrived. He paid special attention to our needs and made sure to help us get where we needed to go. He also assisted us throughout our stay and again when we were leaving. He is an excellent example of how customer service oriented and friendly all of the staff are at Hacienda Del Mar. We will be back!
No pool furniture.

The resort took away 50% of the pool and beach furniture. I was not able find a lounger to lay by the pools the entire week.
