Tacos

Loved the rib eye tacos and stuffed potato at El Burro Cansado. Service received from Eduardo are amazing. We were here most days and he always greets us with a smile and by name. We will keep coming back during our stay.
Beautiful Resort, but many changes

We have been coming to Hacienda Del Mar for 25 years now and keep on coming back because we love it. It is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful resorts in the world. However many changes in the last 5 years. Here are my pros and cons: +The architecture and landscaping make it one of the most beautiful resorts in Mexico. The pools and the ocean views are beautiful. + The staff are consistently nice and helpful. + Poolside service has been great. + Burro Cansado Taco restaurant...great tacos, my favorite restaurant at HDM. + Portales. Great little store to buy a few groceries and snacks. - Overbuilding at Cabo Del Sol. The grounds at Cabo Del Sol used to be a great place to walk with wonderful ocean views, but because of the new resorts and construction, those walks are limited and the views are gone. - Restaurants are overrated and overpriced. Cheaper and better to take and Uber into town. They got rid of one of the best restaurants, Girasole, which had a wonderful breakfast, great theme dinners, and beautiful views. I think they got rid of the Girasole because the Four Seasons didn't want a restaurant looking down on their property. Pitahayas and De Cortez are beautiful restaurants, with great staff, however I just don't like the food. Tomatoes has theme outdoor buffet dinners in the plaza, food is just "OK". - Every time we check-in we get forced to sit down for them to sell us on attending a timeshare presentation...that is 30 minutes. They say the timeshare presentation will take 45 minutes, but it ends up to be 2.5 hours and wrecks a good vacation day. Even if you are an owner, you get pitched either buying at Solaz or buying/upgrading at HDM. - Lack of late checkout times. They used to have an owner's lounge with bathrooms and showers you could use after checkout, but they converted that to offices.
