Wonderful stay from check in to check out. Yummy food, tried the sushi, so fresh and tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful from Orlando at the pool getting us all to do water aerobics and other fun activities. To Renia at the restaurant for evening dinners. Small resort, authentic feel, great for kids and those looking for a quieter vacation.

Absolutely loved staying at the Solmar. I was looking for a place that was close to the marina and walkable to everything, but still right at the beach. The Solmar Resort was exactly what I was looking for! If you enjoy a quit, not crowded beach (and also a rather quiet pool area), love watching massive Pacific waves this one is for you. The location was perfect. It takes 7 min to walk to the marina (where all the boats and attractions are) and the beach in front of the hotel is absolutely stunning. It's a quite approximately 3 km long beach stretch (also perfect for running in the morning) with almost no people on it. Views are magnificent. Waves are super high and incredible to watch, you can see wales from the resort and you access the exact same beach the Waldorf Astoria and the Grand Solmar Lands End (which charge 5 times as much as the Solmar per night) access. The staff at the hotel is also incredibly friendly! Orlando and Amy do a yoga class every day at 10 am right on the beach which was one of my highlights during my trip. Breakfast, pool and dinner staff is highly attentive. I recommend their sushi at the pool (Spicy Tuna and Cilantro Roll was my favourite) and to kick of the morning with their fruit platter and cactus juice. I did like their restaurant El Trebol for dinner (everything is on the grill) and El Tejeban for breakfast. The rooms were very clean, the entire hotel complex felt pretty spacious with a beautiful Cabo scenery full of hibiscus flowers, cactuses and other beautiful plants that made the scenery so very special. You can also do a guided hike which starts right next to the hotel entrance to watch The Arch and the beach from above (time frame approx. 2 hours) and have dinner or lunch at the neighbouring a little bit more upscale Solmar Landsend Resort (which belongs to the Solmar). I joined the Mexican Night at this resort and loved it. (They also have a good coffee bar there!) The Solmar for me was the perfect choice as my condo was first floor and I could step out to a nice terrace and see the ocean. Rooms had a good size and even included a kitchenette. I also recommend visiting the "La Brisa Restaurant" which belongs to the neighbouring Grand Solmar Landsend (Happy Hour from 3-5 pm) as this bar is the closest you can sit to the ocean, and their octopus tostadas are recommendable. Both resorts share the same entrance so its easy to visit both restaurants even if you are staying at the Solmar. I personally felt the vibe at the Solmar was way more approachable than the bigger Lands End Resort and it felt more familiar. I absolutely enjoyed my 12 days at the Solmar Resort to the fullest and can recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Cabo!

This review is just for El Tejaban restaurant at Solmar. We were staying at Grand Solmar, and were so pleased to find El Tejaban. We really liked the menu, and the restaurant was so nice - open doors to the ocean and sunset views, lovely vibe, and wonderful service from the team. They were so kind with our limited Spanish. Reyna was so warm and wonderful, and our food was so good, that we cancelled reservations at a different restaurant and went back again the next evening so we could sit at her table. And that was so delicious that we came back the next day for breakfast. Everything was plated beautifully, and very tasty. We were able to charge our meals to our room in Grand Solmar or pay with a card.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Solmar Resort and had a wonderful time. Although the room was a bit outdated, I know they intend to eventually put their money back into renovations over time since its primo location. Its only a 10-15 minute walk to the marina and was safe enough for my wife and I to do at night. The restaurants had tasty food. Shoutout to Arturo & Jose Luis at Tejaban who were amazing servers and worked with us practicing our español! They were true gentlemen and fun guys. Also, shoutout to Gerrardo along with the rest of the pool waiters / bartenders. They worked their butt's off making sure everyone had there drinks/food. Thank you guys! The live music was great at Tejeban too which we danced to along with other vacationers having fun. When booking, we went with the Whale watching package (Shoutout to Jerry, our boat guide, who was awesome! Also, heads up, there is no bathroom on the boat but its got a dual engine hemi to make up for it so you will definitely cruise fast and get to more locations where the whales are). We also went with the SOULMATE massage package at Grand Solmar's Lands end in the beach cabana (OMG, my wife and I thought it was the best massage of our lives!! Shoutout to Brenda and Itzelda! Your hands are magic, the sound of the ocean was bliss, and the chocolate covered strawberries with champagne was icing on the cake.) All-in-all great stay and made for great stories and memories. My wife and I would definitely come back here.

We have been to Solmar Resort 15 times, and each time it is the best vacation ever. Solmar Resort is the oldest resort on the Pacific side of Cabo, since it is on the Pacific side the ocean is too dangerous for swimming, but Medano Beach is close by. The resort reminds us of old Mexico it is not the glitz and glamour of the other Cabo mega resorts. It is old, small, quiet and very intimate. A fifteen-minute walk will get you to the hustle and bustle of the marina with its many restaurants and night clubs. The beach is private so no vendors. The Resort is beautifully maintained and very clean. The Staff is the same year after year, all very professional, friendly, attentive and ready to go the extra mile to make your vacation special. Choose All Inclusive and sit back and relax; no shopping, no cooking and no dirty dishes; couple that with an excellent, attentive and very friendly staff, and it is a true vacation. No buffets, order off a menu and be wowed with good food artfully presented by Chefs Miguel, Pako and Efren; and efficiently served by Jose Luis, Salvador, Susana, Margarita and Manny. Watch the sunset while enjoying a cocktail made by Octavio, Alexis or Eric, or served poolside by Arturo or Gerardo. Walk the grounds beautifully landscaped and maintained by Irma and Lorena. Watch in amazement how Armando, Israel, Luis and Manny maintain the property (no OSHA in Mexico). Enjoy fresh sheets and towels every day and the most comfortable bed ever and a room cleaned by the excellent housekeeping staff-Patricia. The general housekeeping staff that cleans the public areas of the resort is always humming while working-Villaeldo, Veronica. Front Office staff are willing to help with any issue (of which we have never had any)- Carlos, Elena, Elsa, and Michael. And the bell boys are always ready for a fun conversation- Juan, Marco, Ivan and Luis. The small intimate Mexican feel, the location, the cleanliness and the Staff are what keep us coming back year after year. All of the Staff at the resort make it such a special place, they are all so friendly and so happy and so willing to make your vacation the best ever.
