All the staff were exceptionally welcomong and friendly. Reyna at Tejaban restaurant is exceptional!! She was very warm and inviting from the first meeting during our first meal of the trip. Reyna has a beautiful soul. My friend, Linda, is elderly and disabled and Reyna has constantly shown genuine compassion for Linda and even ensures that her fellow teammates are mindful of Linda on Reyna's days off. Everyone has been so kind and caring from Marco at reception to housekeeping to Omar at poolside and of course Reyna, who is now known as "Linda's daughter" and her team members. i'm sorry i dont know all their names, but we'll never forget their faces snd kindness. I've written a ravng review on Hotels.com and sent messages to our families and friends about our wonderful experiences at Solmar. The trip has exceeded our hopes and any expectations. Thank you for hiring incredible people like Reyna and the team.

We simply love everything about Solmar Resort!! From their beautiful grounds, their friendly staff and the relaxed vibe everything was superb. Just what we were looking for. Having breakfast in an terrace and looking whales in the ocean in front of the hotel!! Or having a Margarita watching the sunset are amazing pluses!! Definitely will come back

It's a beautiful view, oceanfront and friendly staff. Pools are cold though, rooms are dated and if you have any mobility issues I don't recommend this resort. If you're active and like refreshing pools then you're good.

We stayed at Solmar for Christmas 2025. Auturo was our waiter at the pool and he was absolutely fantastic! He got along great with our kids and made the stay wonderful! I hope if you stay with solmar, you have Auturo for your pool waiter!!

This is my 2nd stay here. We did a week, with the all-inclusive package, which we found to be worthwhile, even though we don't drink much alcohol. The restaurant options are limited here, but the price is right. There is really only one main restaurant, plus a barbeque spot (partially served by the main restaurant) & a sushi stand at the pool with limited hours. The staff is wonderful and friendly. At the pool, Arturo provided stand-out service... he made sure we always had drinks, food and even adjusted umbrellas to keep us in the shade when we needed it. Juan Luis remembered our preferences at breakfast & made up an extra spicy salsa each day for some of our group. Ricardo was amazing at keeping us entertained with activities, crafts & spanish lessons. Overall, the food is good... not necessarily spectacular and not always consistent. Sometimes chicken was cooked perfectly and other times, over done (regardless of the dish). The ribs were quite good and tender every time someone in the group ordered them. The deserts are good... tiramisu, chocolate bomb and ice cream were the best, imo. The sushi spot puts cream cheese in almost every roll... not my thing, but you can get it without. The sashimi was very good, except one day... it tasted fine & seemed fresh, but was cut weird and sloppy... maybe a new chef? Tips to get a hot shower... don't go first or let it run a very LONG time. This was consistent for both visits, in completely different buildings. With the exception of one day, we never even used the cold water for a shower because the hot water never got hot enough to do so. This location is great if you want to go downtown or to the marina... you can walk down the hill and you're there. The units have a small kitchenette, so you could get groceries & cook plus eat downtown for more variety.
