This resort was lovely. The staff was terrific, the pool areas were available and clean, our room was large and comfortable, and we enjoyed the food. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. It overlooked the Sea of Cortez and the selection was marvelous. We typically stay at JW Marriotts or Westins, and this was of that level. We were pleasantly surprised by this experience. We didn't do the all inclusive, just breakfast and that was perfect for our family. The resort is close to downtown and we were able to get there for less than $5 in a Uber. There are shows each night, we stayed on property for one of them, and it was great- along with the buffet and table service. Overall, I would stay here again. We loved it for the entire family.

Our family has multiple memberships with the Villa group and VDP Cabo is our home resort. We used to love this resort and always looked forward to our trip here. With the new pool renovations, this is no longer the case. There is now very little for middle aged kids to do. It seems to be changing, adjust their target demographic, to an adults only resort. Many new things were added, all of them for adults. Very disappointing. The resort itself is still nice. The staff is fantastic as always. There is always someone there to help you when needed. Our pool server was awesome, we would ask what section he would be at the next day so we could try to get chairs in his area. It was also nice to see the pool concierge enforcing the chair saving rule. He would document and remove towels saving chairs of nobody was using them for 30-45min. The food is also quite good, we always looked forward to the pool food and drinks. Not sure if or when we will be back. We will probably try out other options looking for something more family friendly until our kids grow up. At that point I don’t know if the Palmar will even be attractive for us. We chose the Palmar specifically because it was the family option at that time.

Alejandro Adriana was our server the first and last night at VDP and he was so sweet and fun. Great service, hyping us up to enjoy ourselves, he deserves all the best! :)
