Good Price

Make sure you get a great price on Intervalworld or RCI. The room is great for $379 a week. However, this is a 2 star hotel for the mildew and musty smell in all the rooms that I stayed in; which I stayed in several times for $379 per week. They set the AC to 74 degrees, which never gets cooler than that in the room. Pretty much Sweaty Betty all day long. They just upgraded the internet which means free internet if you want the speed to be 1990 speed. Otherwise, it is $20 a day per each device connected for small increase in seed. It's $40 for faster speeds. Any Team Meeting expect to pay for the video use. Bed is very firm if you like the firm lounge. TV in livingroom is about 20 inches and TV in bedroom much larger. Room flooring througout and bathroom shower/tub is totally early/mid 1990s. They do have upgraded ceiling fans and other decor, but the room stinks like mildew. The pools, Jacuzzis, sports bar and entertainment are great. Staff is awesome. Beach is awesome. Rooms smelly. Lol. Don't use your points unless u upgrade to 2 bedroom oceanfront suite. Jeff

Iracema was our waiter and she was superb!!! Her suggestions were incredible and on point. Great sports bar, great food. We enjoyed our honeymoon and felt the love by the staff. Definitely recommend, Will return.

I can't wait to return!

From the moment the incredible bellhops start helping you with your bags, you know that you are going to be treated to a wonderful experience. The staff, management, activities and amenities are top notch. I opted for the all-inclusive, which was so worth it! Aside from the ability to eat at the bar/poolside/and have room service; the restaurants that were part of the package were excellent! I did the timeshare presentation, and don't understand what the negative reviews are about. Shout out to Edna, the concierge that took care of me. I would also like to acknowledge Paola, who gave me an excellent tour and was not pushy in the slightest bit. They were both so helpful, knowledgeable, and overall a pleasure to deal with. As expected, the timeshare staff want to present you every available option, but they remained polite throughout the entire process. I plan on going back again in a few months!

Employee action above and beyond!

Alejandro at the front desk was so helpful with transferring rooms. He really went out of his way to help me get a room to move into, as we had to check out of a week stay room and into another for one night. My daughter had a real important zoom meeting and couldn’t find quiet anywhere, so we really needed a room to get into. I really appreciate his attentiveness! He made the stay so worth it! I will go back because of him and the bellman Dago. They really care about a guest!!

Not the place for us

Spurtzonmyface (Ruckersville, Virginia) on Jun 28, 2022

We stayed at the Villa del Palmar on our honeymoon from 5/7-5/14. The review at the resort was gorgeous. We really tried to love it, and loved some of the aspects but should have stayed elsewhere. 1st. We were gifted our stay from our parents' time share. We were REALLY upfront that we WERE not ok with going on time share tours etc. and were met with rudeness, and treated as if we were wasting the 'concierges' time. Once we told her this she was actually argumentative with my husband. Our room was great, we could step right out to the pool, however, NO ONE could be contacted who understood that I was asking them to remove the alcohol from my fridge. We had multiple issues with housekeeping. Oddly enough; there was a window to the lobby in our master bedroom where the light shined through all night. It made it harder for us to sleep. The issue with housekeeping; they went through our belongings. I don't care what the front desk or whatever other staff says. They went through my stuff. They also moved everything around and organized my make up. Just be aware. There was no way to sit and look at the ocean and enjoy the view without being harassed by people selling drugs. I understand the folks on the beach selling their items; but the amount of times I was trying to sit and look at the view with my husband and had men standing there touching their noses and asking if I wanted to buy blow was ridiculous. I even saw them approach a family with a small child as soon as they stepped down from the steps off of the beach. The restaurants at the resort ALL have great reviews but most are lacking. Carbon is delicious; the hostess is rude. However, once you are seated the food is delicious and the service was great. Our FAVORITE place on the resort was the deli. The desserts, coffee, and sandwiches are delicious and really saved our experience. The staff at the deli/café were also wonderful. The ladies helping to book excursions were also super helpful. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but would choose a different resort in the future. PS. BE SURE you are aware of the internet charges. We double and triple checked when we logged onto Wi-Fi to make sure we were using the free version (which is terribly lacking) but as we checked out we talked to a couple who was facing a VERY large unexpected bill. They charge PER DEVICE. So. If you opt to pay $20 or more per day for the boosted internet; you are paying PER DEVICE. We also felt that the 'members' were treated much better than those of us who were still time share members but visiting. There is much better customer service and facilities out there.
