I would like to say that the service at Villa Del Palmar was exceptional as a whole. I’ve been to multiple resorts and never have had someone as professional, courteous, and hard-working as Joel Vallarta. The pool service from him was exceptional. He memorized my room number by the 2nd day and was able to just put my drink order out once he memorized it. I watched him run throughout the day to get customers their drinks. Villa Del Palmar is absolutely luck to have him as an employee. Anyone attending this resort should ask for him and make sure he is your pool waiter.

An absolutely lovely place to stay for your next trip. The resort hosts amazing shows nearly every night that allow for nightly entertainment for both kids and adults alike. The staff is full of amazing team members who make the experience that much better.
The resorts also hosts activities during the day that are ran by their activities team, who are absolutely amazing. Speaking from my group’s experience, we had amazing interactions with the activity team, especially with Alana, Chewie, Chloe, Ismael, and Luis. Their interaction is what truly made the trip so great!
For those looking for a quieter experience the resort has an adult only pool which is a bit quieter then the main pool, but still hosts the same great staff.

The “COVID-19 Pandemic Vacation Blues” is officially over. Although the resort was nice and the staff friendly, it was definitely busting at the seems. The pool servers and bartenders appeared to be overworked and overwhelmed as they tried j Ju to take care of all the guests. The pool bar line at times was 6 to 10 people deep. The resort asked that guests not reserve pool seats but that went by the wayside. At 7:00am, you could always see lounge chairs with towels on them for hours with no one using the them. The Couples massage with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries is a no brainer. Our best experience of the entire week bar none. Luis at the front door was the best doorman….ever. We went to Palmito Market and bought a shopping cart of groceries. He saw us pushing the buggy across the parking lot and told us he would bring it to our room. Not only did he do that, he helped unload our groceries and took the cart back to the store.
Awesome Anniversary Trip, Make sure to try the frozen Cesars Palace drink, you will thank me later!

I spent 6 days here at the beginning of June and had a wonderful time with my wife. We are not time share owners but have visited Villa del Palmar in Cancun several times and love it. While the Cabo property is a little older, we found it to be just as amazing. They really have done a good job maintaining the property and we didn’t experience any of the weird odors that others have complained about. The renovations appear to have been completed so I assume that it may have been paint or something related that others were smelling.
We like to relax while we are on vacation, so we selected to get a garden view room. They offered us a free upgrade to pool view but we had read reviews that the pool was loud in the morning and the shows were loud at night, so we decided to graciously decline. We had a view of the courtyard between Villa del Arco and our patio and it was very nice and quiet. We had room 3512 and it was next to the elevator. The first night we were there was Memorial day and we heard doors slamming all night but every other night it was quiet, so it was fine.
The food was really good, other than the Sportsbar. I am from Texas and love BBQ so I had the ribs which were not good at all. Maybe I am just spoiled but the sauce tasted like ketchup and chile sauce. This was our first meal so I was a little concerned, since we booked the all inclusive. However, that was the only bad meal I had there. The Italian restaurant (Bella California) was amazing and the grille (Carbon) was also very good. I will warn you that the plates are served on actual charcoal burners, so your clothes will smell like smoke when you leave, but the food is so good that it is worth it. We ate at both of these restaurants twice, and at Tomatillo farm to market once. We were worried based on reviews that we would be disappointed, but that was not the case at all. The menu did have several items that were additional cost, but they had plenty of items that were excellent which were included in the all inclusive plan. I highly recommend the lasagna and ravioli at Bella and the ribeye at Carbon. The breakfast buffet at Bella California was very good and the french toast station is a must try. I am not sure if I would have paid $30 per person but with the all inclusive plan it was a no brainer. I would recommend doing all inclusive if you can afford it, as I added up our receipts and we spent $1600 in 6 days on food and drinks and my wife doesn’t really drink. We bought our package on southwest airlines vacations and our whole package, including airfare and a 1 bedroom/2 bathroom suite was only a couple hundred more than we would have spent on food/drinks alone.
The staff at all of the restaurants were excellent, minus one waitress at breakfast. The breakfast buffet is very busy and they are under staffed and she seemed to just be having a bad day so I will extend grace and not mention her name. The GM of the breakfast area made up for it and was a super star. My wife is allergic to gluten and dairy, and the general manager personally brought her gluten free pancakes every day. The waiter we had at Carbon was the bomb and he made our experience. He introduced us to a frozen drink called the Cesars Palace and it might be my favorite drink ever. I was able to order it everywhere else at Palmar, but it might be there signature drink as no one else in Cabo knew how to make it. The other drink I would recommend is the frozen mojito. The all inclusive allows you to select the liquor, so make sure you specify bacardi so you don’t get well. I was also able to get it double, since they use so much ice, so it didn’t taste watered down.
The beach at the hotel is nice but the rip current is very strong, so we elected to stay at the pool. The best part about this hotel is the view. Our tables at diner at Carbon and Bella were right above the beach and had amazing views of lands end and the arch. The food was a 9 but service and view was a 10+. They didn’t have many activity options we cared to try, but I did go to the gym and play pool volleyball daily. The gym was very nice but you did have to make reservations. The locker rooms at the gym were a hidden gem and were first class. They had a steam room, sauna and hot tub. I never saw anyone else using them, so it must not have been widely known how awesome they were. They did have tennis courts that were very nice, but we didn’t have time to use them. The beach activity center was shut down due to covid.
The other tip I will give you is to walk down the sidewalk into town. It is a 20 minute easy walk and there is a massage place called Justin Time massage that is one of the best I have ever been to. It is $50 for a 90 minute massage and is probably the best bargain in Cabo. Ask for Adriana or Erica and you will be very impressed. We ended up going 4 times and wish we could have gone more. We found them on trip advisor and they were highly ranked for a reason.
All in all we loved Villa Palmar and would certainly come back. We were not asked one single time to attend a timeshare presentation and did not experience any pressure. We saw the people at check in that others warned about, but they were standing on the side and only engaged you if you went to them. They were very professional and respectful and we had no complaints about them at all. We would never buy a time share so we did not waste their time and they did not waste ours. I travel several times a year and was a travel agent for over a decade, and this hotel is top notch. Don’t be afraid of negative reviews, their is nothing to be afraid of, There were a lot of families there but my wife and I, both in our late 30’s did not feel out of place and had a wonderful adults only trip.
