Beautiful location

This place is beautiful and located in a great walk friendly part of town. The views are breathtaking. The customer service was top notch. Shout out to Rafael, Gonzalo and Rodolpho for making the experience that much better. This place offers great activities throughout the day and the shows at night are spectacular. One glitch was the food, it was repetitive and not exactly tasty. Even the specialty restaurants fell short. We do highly recommend this place.

Rooms to old

The staff is friendly, the service in general is excellent. Room 1032 that we had was very clean, however with extreme neglect, the bathroom door with mold, moth-eaten door edges, closet drawers with humidity and traces of paintings from several generations.

Scenic and relaxing resort

This is an amazing spot and a great deal for an AI. I was already a fan of Barcelo and feel you get high quality at a value. This was in line with my other experiences. However, it wasn't perfect, and if you're not in a good room and eat at the buffet only, you may not be pleased. With that said, do pay attention to other low rated reviews. The property itself is stunning. The grounds are a perfect tropical oasis enhanced by the gorgeous Mayan design of the hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable with spacious balconies. The location across from Las Hadas is exquisite. Some things required a maintenance call, but it was quick to resolve. The reception staff are so nice and always try to be helpful, but the check in process is overly time consuming and it can easily take an hour. As for the ala carte restaurants, the Italian was excellent. The Japanese was also wonderful with delicious, fresh sushi and many other options to fit any taste. The Mexican restaurant is a lovely experience with decent fare. The buffet, meh, I looked and wasn't impressed. Its dining area is quite inviting, though. Room service is good enough- I ordered breakfast and loved it on my balcony. Ok, so Premium Level. I have mixed feelings at this Barcelo. It guarantees you a room on the top two floors, but honestly that won't mean much if it's not facing a nice direction. The Premium Lounge is fine, but the lobby location, selection of snacks and overall atmosphere are mediocre. Most people probably don't even use it, but I did, and appreciated having it. Room service is 24 hours and included free for Premium only, so that's a great benefit if you like eating in your room. The drive to the historic town center of Manzanillo is about 15 minutes, but it's nice to be closer to Las Hadas and see the twinkling night views across the bay. I'd definitely stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE, I WILL NEVER for SURE ! They stole my 3 rings I know I left in the room the day I checked out! I remember exactly where I left them and they said they were not there, which is a lie, this was the cherry on the cake for me… I have stayed at many other hotels and this is the only place I been robbed… I have many complaints for this place, I stayed there for 13 nights. The weakest WiFi there ever was ! I requested a 2 bed room because I was staying with my disabled father and I was placed at a 1 king size bed with a sofa, and if that was not bad enough we were sent to the farthest corner away from all restaurant, we had to stay at that room for 1 night because there was no upgrade available and the next available room will not be ready till next day by 3pm! The bathroom walls had mold on them, I could not believe what I was seeing, come one this is a 4 diamond hotel??? They used tactics just to get you to stay there at a non refundable hotel. Second day we were placed at another room with 2 beds but the water was cold and the drain for the shower was always getting plugged, I requested like 4 times to have that fixed, I had enough of them telling me that it was already taken care of but that was not true, i continued having the drain problem, so I requested another change of room and once again we had to wait till 3 pm to see what will be available, this 3rd time I did not even get helped to move rooms with my father that’s blind, I had to ask a cleaning lady if she could help me with my dad while I transferred all the suitcases. On the 3rd room I could not control the temperature in the room, it was at 25.5 Celsius that’s like almost 78 Fahrenheit which is hot for me! I notified the hotel about the problem with the temperature but they says that they have the control of it and it can not be any lower than 24 Celsius! How is that even possible? This hotel is not cheap, also the food at the buffet is awful, so tasteless! The restaurants they have are not the best either, we had better luck with the room service, we ordered food and they were not bad but not the best. The pool, they have many pools water is warm but it’s not clean, I saw an animal ?? floating on the pool a couple of times, so that was disgusting… perhaps was from the raccoons, or Iguanas they have roaming around in the pool.
