Timeless Gem

tim j (Basingstoke, United Kingdom) on Mar 25, 2026

This was our second trip to Couples Negril the previous one some 19 years ago. This time we took Timair from Montego airport to Negril, a 15min trip. Highly recommended. The communication with the hotel prior to departure was excellent through Gordon the Operations Manager and his staff. In fact the time and effort Gordon provided during the whole holiday was exceptional. He arranged a change of room, often welcoming guests for breakfast, interacted with staff during the day and made the time to say goodbye to us when we left. Not met many managers that puts this much effort in to providing a personalised guest experience. Top marks! The hotel and staff were just as we remembered it 19 years ago, friendly and engaging. The hotel itself had changed little and was in good condition. The room was well equipped with plenty of towels and storage. The bed was particularly comfortable. In room service via the app worked well, we only used this for drinks. The room was always kept very clean with towel sculptures regularly provided. The food and service in the restaurants were great, we enjoyed them all. Our favourite was Otaheite, outstanding food, service and for the whole dinning experience. We liked the fact that restaurant menus change on different days of the week which I think is unique and adds extra choice. The returners meal (Mondays) is definitely worth attending, they really make an effort with exceptional food and great service. One night we’d had dinner and fancied cheese and biscuits in the buffet and listen to the house band at around 8pm but were turned away as the tables were still set up for dinner, although not many people there so this was disappointing. The entertainment team Kekee, Francesca and Akeisa were enthusiastic and always fun. If you take part in the daily activities you are given funny money to spend at 2 weekly auctions! The house band in the buffet restaurant played some modern music but couldn't help think they would have been much better playing more reggae focussed tunes. The Piano Bar was either crazy karaoke or a banging disco (far too loud). However, we did enjoy the Karaoke. The pool area is layed out well, but sun beds with an umbrella were at a premium and only available if you got up really really early. Probably the biggest down side to this hotel, but could be sorted easily. The pool bar was a great place to meet people and chat. The drinks service was swift and Moveta knew what we were going to drink before we asked for it. The gardens are immaculately maintained including the paths to and around all the buildings. The beach was kept clear of seaweed and raked daily. Took the ‘Exchange program’ mini bus to Couples Swept Away for the day. Now I know everyone is different but when we arrived they had run out of fresh towels everywhere. The two pools are tiny and at either end of the hotel, which is amazing considering the hotel is twice the size as Negril, although acknowledge a bigger beach. There appeared to be nowhere to meet socially, this was evident when it rained and people were crammed everywhere around the small bars. However, the beach is spectacular and is worth a visit. It also has an enormous sports facility and if you are in to exercise and racket sports this is for you. Needless to say we arranged a taxi back early as wasn’t for us. We took powerbanks, clothes, mosquito nets, pens and colouring pencils and handed them out to the staff we interacted most with throughout the holiday. In summary, we will definitely return in the future because of the staff and general atmosphere of the hotel. We are in our 50/60s and it suits us and our holiday expectations. Again, thanks Gordon for making the time to engage and being an enthusiastic approachable manger.

Couples Negril a relaxed resort, activities included if you desire!

Knightkaye (Sunbury-On-Thames, United Kingdom) on Mar 22, 2026

Stayed here for 2 weeks. Room good size, plenty of towels - changed frequently. Fridge had a few drinks in. Not Replenished even with soft drinks used. Had to request on the App then took 2 days to come. We couldn't book into the restaurant on the App despite trying several times. The main restaurant was OK didn't like the canteen style buffet, but that's our opinion. Pool was cleaned daily as was the beach. Great for a stroll along the sand. Most staff were excellent. The odd one of course let them down. Had to get up early to secure an umbrella at the pool. Enough beds but not if you want to have a choice of shade. Waterspouts equipment was good. A glass bottom boat tour is included as was canoes, sea bikes and little sailing boats. Diving is available and snorkeling too.

Perfect place to relax

Traveler04282571147 (Merthyr Tydfil County, United Kingdom) on Mar 21, 2026

Fabulous resort, the staff are amazing, food and drink plentiful and good. The whole place is spotlessly clean. There is a really ‘cool’ feeling about this place, relaxing with just enough going on.

Another great time!

We stay 5 days at Couples Negril and 5 days at Couples Swept Away. We enjoy both places. CSA has more pickleball courts which we enjoy using and heard there might be dedicated pb courts at CN. Hopefully they can figure out something to shield the sun so we can play longer, even netting would help. The staff and food was great at both. We’ve been going to the resorts for over 25 years and hopefully can continue more trips in the future.
