I was hoping to have a great stay with my son in NYC’ My mother gave me a $400 gift card from Marriott. I was excited about that gift. Little did I knew that my mom just wasted her $400 dollars. No Marriott hotel apparently takes their own gift cards. It’s a shame how poor their customer service is. From now on I definitely will always stay at any other hotel but NOT Marriott. Any other business on earth takes gift cards even some little mom and pop shops. And yet Marriott hotels pretend like they don’t know what it is. Why would you issue a gift card if your customers will never be able to use it?! Before making reservation I called Sheraton hotel and asked to make reservation with my gift card. They told me they instead would happily take my credit card because their system is not accepting gift cards on the phone. So when I arrived to the Marriott - Sheraton hotel I presented my gift card at check-in. The woman at the front desk said we will take your gift card at check out. So I presented it at my check-out and I was told they can’t accept gift cards at check out either. I would truly appreciate if someone from Marriott (maybe their billing department) could return my mother’s 400 dollars back and simply take this gift card’s digits with its pin code. That’s all I’m asking! It’s just not fair towards my elderly mother who was just trying to give her son and her grandson a nice experience at the Marriott hotel.

Excellent service from check in to check out. All staff was approachable & friendly. A gentleman named Julian went out of his way to help me solve a problem with my breakfast. I don’t think it was his job to do that but he was happy to help. It definitely brightened my day. The entrance is also gorgeous.
