Horrible first 24 hours

Matthew M on May 16, 2026

I am currently staying at the Fairfield Anaheim Resort, we checked in yesterday and will be checking out Sunday. Needless to say we have had multiple issues in the 24 hours we have been here that are totally unacceptable by any Marriott standards, we are here for my daughters 18th birthday and thus far your property has ruined day 1 in a sizable way. 1. At no point in the booking process via Bonvoy app was there mention of construction - this morning at 9:00 am there was massively excessive noise in the room next door - a super loud buzzing/sawing for 20 mins at a time. 2. As per the screenshot directly off the Marriott website for this property, we choose this partially based on the fact there is a fitness center as indicated in pictures. Needless to say, finding out that it is closed upon our check in was a major disappointment. 3. This morning at 9:00 am - we had zero power in our bathroom, like how is this possible? I called and spoke to Sabrina and she sent someone up but said there should be power - there was not. So something is wrong with the electricity in the room. Not having power in a bathroom is totally unacceptable under any circumstance and not being given a reason is worse. 4. Tonight, our sink was fully clogged and dirty backwater was coming up - so again, called to have it fixed. How is this ok? We have been here literally 24 hours and have no gym, no power randomly, and no sink drainage. Fully unacceptable.

Never Again

L Q on May 14, 2026

The first night of my stay, I was relocated twice. The initial room change occurred due to concerns regarding possible bedbugs, which the staff also acknowledged as a legitimate concern. I was advised to wash any belongings that may have come into contact with the bedding, resulting in me spending more than two hours of the first night of my vacation doing laundry. The second room I was assigned had personal belongings left behind by previous guests, and although the third room initially appeared clean, I later discovered a dirty bathing suit hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I was informed the following morning that Ecolab had inspected the original room and determined the insects were not bedbugs. However, when I politely requested to review the report for peace of mind, I was met with a rude response and told the report was not available. All of these issues occurred during the very first night of my stay. Over the following three nights, I continued to experience problems including inconsistent housekeeping, television connection issues, and a motion-activated bathroom light that would shut off after less than a minute. The bathroom light switch was ultimately replaced on the final night of my stay. The majority of the staff were wonderful, and I want to recognize the managers who genuinely tried to assist by moving me to a different room and addressing my concerns once the bedbug issue arose. Their efforts to ease the situation were appreciated. That said, I was disappointed with how the overall matter was resolved. The compensation provided consisted of waived parking fees ($140), a $7 reimbursement for laundry expenses incurred while washing potentially contaminated clothing, a $100 gift card for the inconvenience of being moved between three rooms on the first night, and a partial refund of the Bonvoy points used for that evening. Beyond this, no additional accommodation was offered. Given the circumstances, I would have expected either a full reimbursement of my Bonvoy points or at minimum a complimentary night. Instead, I paid more than $1,350 for three nights, in addition to still be charged 20,000 points for one night, for what turned out to be a highly stressful and far from relaxing stay. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling more like an inconvenience than a valued guest. Housekeeping standards clearly need significant improvement to prevent situations like this from occurring in the future.

Great Location and friendly staff

John B (Hamilton, United Kingdom) on May 11, 2026

Myself and my wife had a great stay at this hotel. Room was comfortable, clean and the location for Disneyland is perfect. Coming back from the park one night a gift was left for me as it was my birthday. This was really nice and never happened to me before. We would stay here again no problem.

We stayed for one week in May. I can't recommend this hotel enough! The location was perfect for disneyland resort. The staff were absolutely amazing! We had a problem with our room door, the issue was dealt with swiftly and efficiently by the reception team and Radu (maintenance). Thank you all so much for a great stay!!

Awful stay

BEWARE if they put you in 101/102/103 or any rooms on any of the 9 floors ending in 01/02/03 YOU WILL hear all 4 elevators running constantly. It’s obscenely loud and THEY KNOW IT. One of the front desk ladies said “they try not to put people there”
