Beware, No Housekeeping Service

VegasFamontheGo (Las Vegas, Nevada) on Jun 30, 2024

The Tropicana Inn & Suites is literally across the street from Disneyland. This made it super convenient to get to the parks for rope drop and back to the hotel for breaks throughout the day. There is a convenient market located on property that sold everything from coffee & wine, sunscreen, flip flops, snacks etc. But that’s where the pro’s end. I will never stay here or recommend this hotel (motel) to anyone ever. If you want the same convenience, Best Western Mini Suites or Desert Inn & Suites are next door and far superior, and I have stayed there before. The amount I paid for the room was not worth it, not even for the location convenience as it was comparable to Motel 6 (like 90’s Motel 6 not their recent rebranded facilities lol). We stayed for 3 nights, there was no housekeeping. And not the “no housekeeping” trend that a lot of Southern California hotels employ for environmental protection, like far too literally, there is no housekeeping. We had to ask for towels and toilet paper daily. With 3 young kids, our trash filled quickly and floors were crumby, and we called to ask for our trash to be emptied - twice and nobody came it felt like sleeping in a landfill. I do not feel guests should have to take out their own trash, and for the cost - get it together Tropicana Inn & Suites, that’s such a basic thing you can do to make your guests stay more pleasurable that we may not have noticed how awful the beds and a/c are. If you do decide to stay here, bring a mini vac to clean your own room and large trash bags for your trash and to put your dirty towels in to leave at the front because nobody will take them from your room.

Across the road from Disneyland!

Julie_the_Kiwi (Auckland Central, New Zealand) on May 25, 2024

This hotel has small rooms, not the comfiest beds in the world and is not without its issues (see below) BUT the service was friendly, it was clean and tidy, had a great hot tub and pool AND it is across the road from Disneyland. Three minor issues - we had a blocked toilet one day which was promptly fixed, a full service was never done even though we stayed longer than 4 days, plus the pool ended up being repaired in our last couple of days so we could not swim which we were not informed about. These issues are outweighed by the positives. Having a hotel room with a kitchen so we could make our own breakfasts, lunches and snacks was very helpful. I do not know of any other hotel that close to Disneyland that has kitchen facilities available. The hot tub and pool were perfect for our family at the end (or in the middle) of a hard day at Disneyland. The little store on the corner was handy. And the staff were always friendly. If you want turn down service each evening and a piano player in the lobby, this is NOT the hotel for you. But if you want a clean and tidy room a short walk from Disneyland, this hotel is five star perfection. It was everything we needed for our week's stay in Anaheim. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone who is going to Disneyland.

Location beats everything

cami_be_reviewing on Mar 18, 2024

Our room was clean but tiny. Daily housekeeping only replaced towels and emptied out trash. For the price, it felt very cheap but I guess we paid for the location. It was literally right across the street from the Disneyland entrance as it only took about 5 minutes from our room to Disney's security. I think it was one of the first hotels when you cross the road from Disney and it was perfect to come back to our room for our mid-day rest. There are also a few food options within a minute from the hotel which solved our breakfasts in the morning.

bad experiences

kaylee r on Mar 13, 2024

Upon arriving there was hair in the bathroom tub and on the towels.. TV didn't work.. The refrigerator didn't work and my daughters milk needed to be refrigerated. To top it off we were welcomed by a huge roach in the bathroom. Front desk gave us another room after we told them our issues. My man went into the new room and it was a mess. Bed not made conjoined room open with lights on. Disney bags on the floor.. not sure if it was occupied but i would be so bothered if someone just walked into my room. He went back to tell them about it and they gave us a new room and once we got that new room we didnt have any issues. On the second day i noticed they had charged me $505 after i had just paid when i arrived the remaining so i was suprised and caught off guard. Once i went to the lobby to ask about it they said it was because they gave me a discount and refunded me an X amount the night before when we went to talk about the issues we were having. The man never mentioned any of that and he should've so i wouldn't be confused.

Convenient location. Cramped space. Uncomfortable beds.

TinaS1891 (Penticton, Canada) on Mar 11, 2024

Small, crowded, no parking except valet. The "fold out" bed for granddaughter was uncomfortable. Beds not that comfortable. Convenient location, great to access parks early. Pool was fine. Dryer took forever. Most of the staff were friendly.
