A fabulous view, pricey but worth it as a one off!

This is a lovely hotel in a fabulous setting. We got a Savannah room. There are not many places in the world where you can wake up and have breakfast on the balcony watching 3 giraffes! It was however expensive and you pay for the privilege but if you are pushing the boat out I'd say it is worth it for a few nights. The pool is great with slides and a splash area for the kids. The only negative is we tried the Boma restaurant which was 58 dollars per head for a buffet. the queue was very long and it was a rip off for a plate of food. The service was atrocious and the table was never cleared so we had to eat around piled plates, then the bill was launched at me before we had started dessert and I didn't ask for it. It was very rushed and lets the hotel down. We ate at the pool bar or out of the resort after that. Excluding Boma, the hotel was excellent. The Reception and Management were first class.
Dissapointed

I travelled internationally as a single mom to give my son his first Disney trip and birthday celebration. Disney wasn't even the main destination of our vacation—I chose to add it because I believed in the Disney magic. Instead, I spent my holiday packing, unpacking, waiting, and chasing a promised room change that never happened. Now I have to pack everything up and move again tomorrow. The biggest disappointment wasn't the mistake—it was the lack of care. I never felt that the front desk truly understood the impact this had on our holiday or made a genuine effort to make things right. Disney is known for creating magical family memories. Sadly, my son's first Disney experience will be remembered for stress, frustration, and lost time instead of magic. As a single mom, that's heartbreaking. #DisneyWorld #AnimalKingdomLodge #DoBetter
A wonderful experience

I spent two weeks here with my son and daughter-in-law and my daughter and her boyfriend, my husband being left behind for health reasons.. It was wonderful. We had not booked a savannah view but ended up with a good view of the animals. Giraffes would walk right past our balcony. We did not have any difficulty with accessing any of the parks from the hotel. The buses were regular and efficient. The pool was lovely and the bar there was a nice place to sit outside on an evening. We also enjoyed the Victoria Falls bar and had a couple of meals at Boma restaurant which we enjoyed. I recommend the jungle juice they serve at breakfast.. It did seem like a long way to our room when we returned from the parks but I think that was down to the distances we had already covered during the day. I shared a room with my son and daughter-in-law and it was a decent size. The beds were comfy. We liked the way the bathroom was laid out with a door between the toilet and shower area and the washbasins. It meant two of us could get ready at the same time. there was plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases. We had a coffee machine in the room and plentiful supply of pods. On our first day we all woke up at 3.30 am so the coffee was much appreciated. The onsite quick service place is very handy and has a reasonable selection. We discovered on day two that our meal plan allowed us to have an individual bottle of wine with our breakfast. We used to get one each and put them in the fridge for a pre dinner drink when we returned from the parks. The lobby was amazing and I would love to see what it is like in the winter. There were loads of comfy sofas . It was very hot and humid when we went so we didn't get to see the fire pit in action. We did attend the marshmallow roasting one evening though which enabled us to meet one or two fellow guests. The machines in the laundry room require the use of a mobile phone. During our stay they were experiencing a problem with the software which meant non American credit cards were rejected. The staff could bypass the issue but on one occasion we had to wait ages for someone to come and help us. We thought the hotel was value for money. When the children were younger my husband and I took them to one of the value resorts on two occasions. we had no complaints about what we got then but, having sampled the deluxe resort, I know what I'll choose if I ever go again.
Perfect location and blissful resort

We loved our 2 weeks at Animal Kingdom Lodge as a family of 3. The setting is beautiful and the resort is well maintained. We were a little worried that people said it's quite far away from the parks but that really wasn't the case...5 minutes to Animal Kingdom and just over 10 to Epcot and Hollywood. The food at Boma was excellent as was The Mara for quick service. Beds exceptionally comfortable! Where else can you wake up to Giraffes :-)

Love this hotel the location is great for animal kingdom, the atmosphere was also very nice. The room was also clean and nice. The value is a bit on the pricy side but it’s worth it. There was a bit of noise in the early morning and night but that’s fine. The service and amenities were also really good.
