**Disappointing Experience at Disney's Yacht Club Resort**
Heather C (San Francisco, California) on Jul 28, 2026
I recently stayed at Disney's Yacht Club Resort while attending a conference, and unfortunately my experience left me extremely disappointed. While the room itself was perfectly acceptable, the overall level of service fell far short of what I expected from a Disney Deluxe Resort. The biggest issue was that there appears to be no way to contact the front desk directly. Dialing "0" connects you to a centralized Guest Services team, who then attempts to reach the front desk on your behalf. Sometimes the front desk calls back, sometimes they don't, and on one occasion they simply left me a voicemail. The only reliable way to speak with someone at the front desk is to physically walk there, which is incredibly inconvenient given the size of the resort. When I arrived, I was surprised to discover there wasn't even bottled water available in the room. There is also no room service or simple delivery option for basic necessities, which was unexpected at a resort of this caliber. The most frustrating experience occurred when I injured myself in the room. While moving one of the heavy desk chairs so I could use the workspace, the chair leg landed on my toe, splitting my toenail in half and causing it to bleed. I called hoping someone could simply bring a Band-Aid or basic first aid kit. Instead, I was told I would need to walk to the front desk to get one myself, even though I explained I was actively bleeding. The only thing they were willing to send to my room was EMS. It was astonishing that a luxury Disney resort could not deliver something as simple as a Band-Aid to an injured guest. Housekeeping also missed some obvious cleanliness issues. When I checked in, there was a large clump of hair left in the shower, which certainly didn't inspire confidence in the room's cleanliness. Midway through my stay, I received a call instructing me to come to the front desk because I supposedly had an outstanding balance. It turned out I had received a package at the resort, resulting in an additional charge of about $5. I asked if they could simply add it to my folio and settle everything at checkout, but I was told they did not keep my payment card on file after check-in. Requiring guests to interrupt their stay and walk to the lobby over a $5 charge seems unnecessarily inconvenient. Finally, despite being at an on-site conference and needing flexibility because I had to change hotels afterward, the resort was unable to accommodate either an additional night or even a late checkout. None of these issues alone would have ruined my stay. However, taken together they paint a picture of a resort that prioritizes policy over guest service. Disney has built its reputation on exceptional hospitality, which is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. Based on this stay, I would not choose to stay at a Disney resort again, nor would I recommend it to friends, family, or colleagues attending conventions or planning vacations. There are simply too many other hotels in the area that provide better customer service and greater convenience for the price.
Great Stay

Just had a fabulous stay at the Yacht Club. Location is perfect for Epcot and Hollywood Studios & Boardwalk. As soon as you walk in the scent of the resort hits you and it’s AMAZING! The rooms were roomy, plenty of storage for 3 people! Bathroom is good for families as well. Value is a little to be desired..but it’s Disney deluxe and you get what you pay for! I am a light sleeper - so I always travel with ear plugs. There was construction going on and you can smell the paint fumes in certain areas but it wasn’t a big issue for us. We didn’t hear noise from construction just from other families. The usual. Crying kids, etc. The only complaint I have is I left the room after housekeeping passed by, so I called them to let them know the room would be empty and to please service it - we needed towels…they never showed up.

This is the best Disney resort! From the second I set foot in the lobby, a wonderful gentleman passed me off to someone at the check-in, after saying welcome aboard, such a nice touch! The two of them did a fabulous job of checking me in and providing me with all the necessary information and of course, the famous I’m celebrating pin. The Gift Shop was beautiful and clean, and I loved the Disney vacation club discount, the woman that worked with me was very sweet as well. The Yacht Club pool is so small and perfect for lap swims as well as the adjoining hot tub is convenient for nighttime. Of course storm along Bay is lovely as ever and it’s very simple to scan your room key in order to get a wristband, just don’t take it off. The lifeguards are really on top of things and they especially make sure that the little kids are OK if swimming on their own. There’s a large amount of restrooms, on-site, food, and beverage, as well as water refill stations. The Gift Shop shop is wonderful with so many options as well as quick and convenient food for any time of day. The room is cozy and upgraded, and I am in awe of the beautiful nautical details and especially the hidden Mickeys and even the steamboat Willie design on the lampshade was so cool. We had a first floor room that overlooked the lake, which was a stunning touch as well. The bathroom is updated with amazing wallpaper and I also love that the Yacht Club has a 24- hour gym located right next to the beaches and cream. There are a variety of activities daily, such as s’mores, silent, disco, trivia, and more. Of course, storm along Bay is a huge plus and it’s quite quick and easy to scan the room key in order to get the wristband. The lazy river is beautiful and of course the pirate ship slide is a must do. Around 11pm, our neighbors had a loud conversation on our balcony, and one call to Jason at the desk fixed it, security came and said something and all the noise stopped. Cannot wait to stay here again!

What can I say about Disney - it ain’t cheap but boy is it worth every penny! They just have a way of making you feel like you’re the only guest there. The Yacht club is perfect for families. Great pool, wonderful restaurant, awesome small store for quick snacks and food on the go, and the staff is outstanding. I love the way they say “welcome home” each time you enter the lobby. Bus service is on time every time, and plenty of parking. They sure did enhance the great memories we were already making during our stay - we WILL be back - thanks Disney ??
