Perfection, with one or two minor concerns.

Another great trip at the Yacht Club. We stayed on the club level, and the service was fantastic! We love that we can bring our pup along. The Yacht Club has been a favorite of mine since 1991. My only complaint is the motion sensor thermostat. We are forced to request a bulky fan evey time we stay, or else we’ll wake up in the middle of the night. As a side note, this has nothing to do with the Yacht Club; however, the gas station by the BW has become very sketchy. Every time I stopped to get gas, there were countless cars parked and random men loitering, staring at the women getting gas. This has nothing to do with the Yacht Club; however, being so close, it's a little concerning.
Solid stay at the Yacht Club, but not my favorite Disney property

We stayed at the Yacht Club for the first time over a very busy recent spring break week (3/27 - 4/3). We are not new to Disney, just new to the YC. We stayed on the 5th floor Club level. Overall, we liked the YC but I'm not sure we'd stay there again (see cons below). For reference, we’ve stayed at French Quarter, Riviera, Grand Floridian in recent years. Yacht Club pros/cons: Pros: - Location, location, location. Walking to Epcot and Hollywood were huge during this super busy week. Location alone might be a reason to choose the YC. - The pool - best Disney pool I've seen, sand bottom was unique - Club level - food was consistently good, service was prompt, and it was super helpful having access to drinks, snacks, and meals - Being on the Boardwalk was super pretty at night with the lake and lights Cons: - Looooong hallways. We were in room 5235 and it was miles from the elevator. I cannot imagine why there isn't another elevator bank to service rooms on that side of the hotel - Construction - yes, I did my research and read the fine print that there would be exterior construction while we were there. However, I didn't realize it would be as disruptive as it was (lesson learned). The noise, workers, barriers were very present. Also, it was very annoying in the Club room. Windows were covered and you could hear the workers conversations while we were trying to enjoy breakfast. With the windows and doors sealed off, the club room had the vibe of a basement level conference room. - Views - we paid up for preferred view and we were looking out on the pool. That was nice but unfortunately we still had to look out on an expansive black asphalt roof and if we turned our heads, there was construction equipment up there too. - Rooms - they are ok but much inferior to Riviera's deluxe rooms. Also, the bathrooms are pretty basic with cheap sliding doors on the tub. - Laundry - there are only 2 (yes 2!!) washer/dryers for the ENTIRE hotel right now (main room closed to construction). Another guest told us they walked to the Swan just to use their laundry room. - Chaos - Yes, I know it's Disney and it was a busy week. But - the lobby was loud, busy, and it was nearly impossible to find a pool chair, let alone 2-3 chairs together. For us, the Yacht Club is a solid and comfortable choice and it's location can't be beat. However, I still prefer Riviera with their far superior rooms and the calmer more upscale vibe AND French Quarter with it's compact footprint and laid back style. And I've learned my lesson - we will be avoiding hotels with any construction in the future!
Good Disney Experience.

Disney Great. The employees are what makes the stay so enjoyable. It goes without saying that the price you pay is going to be high. And that is for room, food and other items. My wife liked the shower and tub combination. Room lacked a microwave, but it had the normal items: ironing board, safe, lots of hangers, hair dryer, coat hooks, lots of drawer space, small refrigerator. The TV had all of the Disney channels and included CBS and NBC. One item of interest. There is no grab bar inside the shower. There is a bar outside near the toilet but none inside the shower. It someone slips in the shower this could come up in the discussions. Just a thought to be considered.
Not as Ship Shape as One Would Hope

Disney's Deluxe Resorts of a certain era (Beach, Yacht, Boardwalk) share a great location, but have not been refurbished in a way that feels like much of an upgrade. The Yacht Club has very few amenities in comparison to newer Deluxe properties, or even Wilderness Lodge -- I ended up getting in very late, and the vending machines were tucked far, far away from the lobby or elevators, in a dingy laundry room (more on that later). The rooms have been soft refurbished, but the bathrooms are tiny and the bath tub, with its awkward sliding door and metal track must make trying to bathe a child a logistical nightmare. I really wish they'd just gone the Wilderness Lodge route and created walk in showers. The walls are thinner than one might want, and the noise in the connecting rooms means that it's sort of like having a vacation with someone else's family. These soundproofing issues have been largely eliminated in newer properties such as the Riviera and the moderate Gran Destino Tower. The resort shop and quick service are tiny, and while one can of course go to the Beach Club or walk over to the Boardwalk, one would think that in a resort where guests cannot be trusted with a mini fridge or a microwave in their room (standard in most normal non-Disney hotels), they would prioritize having a lot of selection in the quick service.
Avoid!!!!

The most overrated resort I have ever been!! Front desk staff absolutely horrendous, so unfriendly! So aloof! Compass restaurant front desk staff equally horrible! I guess they just don’t care. Disney doesn't care . Our balcony view was rubbish, see below! Actual rubbish and workers equipment. Food sub par. Pool ‘guard’ acted like a stormtrooper! Questioned every time! Who are you? Name? Etc . Just terrible. Way overpriced! Delusions of grandeur and employees that treat you like a prisoner in your own resort!
