Excellent Stay and a great staff

One of several large resorts in the Universal Orlando complex. I have not stayed at any of the other properties, but this one seems to be one of the more upscale ones. A big draw for us was that when you book at this property, you get free unlimited Universal Express to both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. At the time of this review, you still have to purchase Express passes to Epic Universe separate if you want those. I do not think they are needed for Volcano Bay and we did not purchase them for that park. The park is about an 8 minute walk to Islands, Universal, and City Walk. There is also a water taxi, which is about the same amount of time, but nice for the ride back when your legs are tired. The rooms are very comfortable and we were able to get adjoining rooms for the family. Beds are comfortable and there is room service for when you are tired. Also, there are fridges, coffee makers, irons, hair driers, and a nice TV in the room. Rain shower with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Plush towels and comfortable bedding made coming back to the room pleasant. The hotel has a nice pool with plenty of seating and some water games for the kids. There is market with food and a gift shop, as well as a beach wear shop. They also had a gym and a video game room, which was also nice for the kids when it rained a bit during our trip. The lobby staff and concierge were very helpful. I did not use, but saw that they also had a gym and a crocket lawn. The restaurants were nice and made it feel like a vacation for the adults as well as the kids. Our go to was the American cafe/bar, that had generous portions. The pool side dining was nice, and the lobby bar made some nice cocktails, we did not try the sushi there. The market also had some take out items, but we did not try any of the hot food there. Overall, we came to Orlando to go to Universal Studios and this hotel fit what we needed. It was a splurge, but very convenient for what we wanted. Staff were really excellent here.
Epic vacation with an epic stay

The Asian Polynesian /Bali theme is so well done at this hotel. The guys at the luggage counter are amazing especially Andrew. Very helpful and fast. Online check in was confusing as it said I would receive priority room assignment in an email the day before we arrived but that didn’t happen. Upon check in I received the express passes and was directed to go to the park. She said my room wasn’t available. We stored our luggage. Later upon return from the park and received a text the room was ready I went back to the desk. A different lady asked if we had checked in and I advised her that we only received our express passes and was told no room was available yet. She told me that I needed to turn in my passes and she would print new ones with my assigned room. However when she checked the passes she said oh wait this is your room. So 3 hours earlier my room was ready but they didn’t allow me entry. The King Suite was a high floor theme park / fire works view - stunning!! It was a wonderful surprise. In another review someone wrote that all king suites are up against elevators but that’s not true. Ours was clear of the elevators but next to the service room. Every day we received complimentary water and new towels being right next to the service room. We never heard the service workers. However, we did hear the people above us. The shower has two shower heads and normally I wouldn’t comment on the hair dryer but because I have hair extensions and had to use it the hair dryer was top end salon quality. Did my hair amazing. The cafe had a great chicken sandwich and was satisfactory on other items. Workers were so friendly. Bar was fantastic for dinner. We were celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday and ordered drinks. The waitress was so nice and brought us a complimentary brownie sundae. Busses to epic were not consistent but very cold and that was appreciated due to it being a 100 degrees. Definitely would stay here again

Honestly never thought I would leave a review like this , because of all the good memories I have had at this hotel but unfortunately they do. Not give any mid to return customers and members that book through universal website , honestly won’t be coming back , I hope they can change my mind

This hotel was just OK. I feel like it is overpriced for what you get. The rooms are kind of rundown. We stayed in this hotel to get tickets to the new epic universe. Although the hotel is very convenient and walkable or you can ride in a water taxi to Universal. It is not worth the money they charge in my opinion. The hotel staff was very friendly. They need to give out better directions to maneuver around their hotel. We ordered room service on two occasions because it was pouring down rain outside and the wait for the restaurant was over an hour. We were on hold for the longest time to get the food. Then they told you to call a number so they can come back and get the cart. It was well until the next morning when they picked up the cart. The cart was cute and made a little table and it did come to the room with a great presentation if that makes sense. We opted out of room service (housekeeping) as we were just staying for two nights. We were really only in the room to sleep and then we were at the theme park all day. The hotel was nice enough to hold your luggage while you are at the theme park. Those boys have this service down to the teeth. Would I stay at this hotel again? No, not even if it was free. I just was not impressed.
