A great hotel in a great location

We are currently staying at this hotel and loving it. The communal areas and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated. I’m not sure when the bedrooms were renovated but everything appears new and excellent quality. We upgraded to a lagoon view which is stunning and we can watch the universal fireworks from our room at night. The water taxi to city walk is such a nice touch but equally the walk is only 10/15 minutes. The pool is lovely and has a slide, cabanas and activities for the kids. Possibly the only negative is the sun loungers are not the most comfortable. The reception staff are friendly and helpful as you would expect. We haven’t eaten in the hotel because it’s so close to the bars and restaurants at city walk there hasn’t been any need to. We will definitely be back next year.

I was a little worried after booking due to reading a few negative reviews, but I needn’t have been. We had a lovely stay! Check-in was relatively slow, but not a major issue. Hotel and room were nice, and the room was clean. Beds comfortable and handy to have the small fridge in the room. Travel cot and baby toiletries were appreciated. Pool area great, with towels and water provided. Kids loved the games and movies in the pool. Also convenient having the shop which sold salads/sandwiches/smoothies etc , although some of the staff could’ve at least managed a smile, not always very friendly. Loved being able to walk or get the water taxi to the parks, and we made use of the early admission. Had a fantastic stay and didn’t want to come home. Would love to return!

Terrifying experience

Horrifying experience and the only reason I did not leave was that I was there for a conference. During a health emergency I went to get medication from my room and there was a problem with the key. I went downstairs where they absolutely refused to let me get my id. It took almost 30 minutes, 3 conference organizers, our local organizer and 1 other to get them to go with someone to get my identification because we were about to pull our whole team (which we show out for conferences). For no amount of money would I ever ever stay there again. Plus it smells funky. Book for business at your own risk.

Sapphire Falls — we have stayed here several times and all have been five-star experiences except for this last visit. Upon arrival, the gentleman at the front counter seemed a little off-key. I asked about late checkout and was informed we would have a 2:00 PM checkout. However, on our last night, it was changed to 1:00 PM with really no explanation other than a generic response. Then, despite having a 1:00 PM checkout and a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, room service knocked at 12:40 PM. That was disappointing and unexpected. Other than that, I absolutely loved the room — it was fantastic as always. But between check-in, the late checkout confusion, and room service not being coordinated with the updated checkout time, it brought this stay down to a four-star experience. That said, we will absolutely continue coming back because it truly is a fantastic resort overall.
