Great newer property - 4.5 stars - needs one service improvement

We frequent residence inn for the ability to eat in room, control diet, have space to spread out. This property delivers everything you’d expect from suburban residence inn. Very new place in great condition when we stayed. Its 15 minute drive to many things in La Quinta/Indian Wells - but nothing right around the hotel. Holding it back from 5 stars: (1) housekeeping was only every other day, but given the timing of it we ended up with only 1 service over 4 nights. They are quick to provide towels and such in between. But they really should do a mini service every day to swap out towels and take out trash (2) like most RI gyms, Id like to see a bit more strength training equipment. We would stay again.
Unpleasant experience

Housekeeping only cleans rooms every other day. After our first night, we left our room hoping it would be cleaned by the time we come back. It wasn’t. I had to do our beds just like I do at home even tho I choose this excellent rating hotel.

Unfortunately this was one of the worse stays I had with marriot properties, starting with homeless gentleman lurking on our floor when I checked in, to being in a room right next to the elevator where all I can hear is the beeping throughout the night. Got two hours of sleep… won’t be staying here again and may have to reconsider my Marriott loyalty.
