Reviews
Mixed review

Here is my review: Positives: 1) Resort is kept VERY clean 2) Staff are super friendly and helpful 3) Restaurants are very good. Negatives: 1) Rooms need updating 2) Facecloths only sporadically provided so ladies bring your makeup wipes! 3) Noisy. If you like listening to a pounding disco beat every day all day, then this is for you. If not, there was no escaping it. 4) Beach is disappointing - very small and rough water. 5) No activities except at noisy pool. No ping pong tables, no adult activities like we’ve had at other resorts like painting classes, beach volleyball, etc. Neutral: The food was good quality, no evidence of anyone getting sick, but the buffet was very repetitive. Recommend booking all 4 restaurants for a variety. There is also a ceviche restaurant that is apparently good but we’re not into raw fish so we didn’t go there. General: Mexico shopping prices in P.V. have become very expensive. Most things are priced the same or higher than in Canada now. Shopping isn’t fun any more! At least not where we went. Lots of closed shops as well…Covid related probably.
Highly disappointed. Won't come back

This is my 7th time staying at the Canto. I have always come back because it was so much fun and the food was amazing. This time, not so much. The food was horrible at the buffet. Breakfast was the best meal. Specialty restaurants are very good, but you only get to eat there once. Many people during this stay were sick from the food because I suspect because it wasn't ever hot. Service is also lacking. Going for lunch at the buffet with no waiter, no coffee. Completely ignored. Security guards shaking their heads at guest as they pass by for whatever reason. One woman drank a bit too much and was laying on a lounge. Security took the towel off her that we covered her with and took it away. I always came because I did feel at home but now it's lacking. I won't be coming back here again. Appalled at the attitude of "I don't care"
