Excellent location, in close proximity in either directions to main city attractions and activities--entertainment, restaurants, shopping, etc.

Secrets Vallarta Bay was an outstanding resort and well worth the cost of the stay. Food was most impressive at Bordeaux and Capers as well as Oceana and Himitsu. The food at Tamarindo was a bit lacking in flavor and the meat was rather dry. Our concierge, Jose Becerra, at the Preferred Club went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. Most often he reached out to us before we had a chance to ask for anything. If we did reach out first, he immediately responded to our request. We couldn't have asked for anyone better. The room we stayed in was outstanding. We chose to stay in the ocean front master suite on the 3rd floor. The view of the ocean off of our balcony was fantastic. Going to sleep at night to the sound of the crashing waves provided the most relaxing night of sleep. The staff were always working to ensure the resort stayed clean. The rooms were refreshed on a daily basis. Even on the day we chose to stay in and not have the room cleaned, they contacted us both by phone and our concierge to ensure we didn't need service for the day. We have visited this resort twice before and we were not disappointed in this stay. Every employee of this resort goes out of their way to ensure your stay is pleasant and you enjoy yourselves. I highly recommend staying here for several different reasons.

If you're expecting a 5 star amazing resort, don't go here. Very dated. Mexican food is great but all of the other restaurants were mediocre.

Overall an excellent location with a beach vibe. Rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. Overall value was reasonable. Downside was the pool bar under going a complete renovation. Lots of construction noise - not peaceful. Why management chose to renovate during summer instead of winter is a mystery. Pool itself is small and inundated with kids/families - so direct access to Pismo Beach is a plus. Bar and Restaurant/food and services were very good.

Enjoyed our honeymoon at Secrets last week and felt pampered and well taken care of. We spent a lot of time at the pool and enjoying the on site restaurants. The Hibachi restaurant is busy but luckily our butler Ramon Melendez helped us secure a reservation easily. He also made sure our room was serviced every day and made our trip extra special, brining up a honeymoon treat. We opted for the Preferred suites and two of the bartenders, Carlos and Hector, were also amazing and made our trip special. Highly recommend booking your stay here! Thanks for making our honeymoon experience so great.
