Great resort needs to be updated a little, but location is great and employees are fantastic

We keep coming back year after year because it feels like home, the staff and clientele are friendly, the resort is clean, comfortable and lots of fun. Special thanks to Ivan and Alvaro at reception for taking care of us.

Just checked in for our 3rd stay. Our room is absolutely horrible. Facing a wall on the first floor. Mold on all the light shades. Check-in was horrible. Didn’t give us the WiFi, didn’t explain services. A completely different feel from our 2 previous stays. Will talk to the manager in the morning. So so disappointing. UPDATE: we had to pay (a lot) to get a different room. That was literally the only way for us to stay. The room they provided was uninhabitable. Complained and No one reached out to us, no one did anything to address it. Management and front desk needs serious work. Wow. We will never return and I will make sure my review is seen by everyone possible. They should be ashamed.

We had an amazing stay at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta, but the highlight of our entire trip was the outstanding service from Alfredo, the pool concierge, and Daniel, one of the beach servers. These two truly made our vacation special. Alfredo absolutely went above and beyond every single day. Each morning, he personally met us down by the beach, made sure we had fresh towels, and set up our chairs exactly where we wanted so our whole family could relax together comfortably. He was endlessly patient with us, always upbeat, and always ready for a friendly chat. What impressed us most was how genuine he was — he didn’t just take care of us; he connected with us. On our last day, he even came up to the lobby just to say goodbye. That meant so much. His happiness, warmth, and willingness to accommodate anything we needed truly elevated our experience. Daniel was equally incredible. You could tell from the moment his shift started until the end of the day how hard he worked — and he did it all with a positive attitude. Even though he’s an older gentleman, he was practically running back and forth across a busy beach, making sure every order was delivered quickly and perfectly. He remembered all of our preferences without us having to say a word, which was especially impressive given how many people he was serving at once. Despite the nonstop pace, he always made time to greet us, check in, and make sure we were doing well. I was only there for a week with my grandparents, but he made me feel welcome, comfortable, and at home. Both Alfredo and Daniel embody exceptional hospitality. They didn’t just do their jobs — they made a personal impact on our trip. Their kindness, dedication, and attention to detail are what make Villa del Palmar a place we’ll happily return to. They truly deserve recognition for the outstanding service they provide.
