Great looking hotel, great staff and grounds, even in it’s opening stages with continuous construction being done on the property. Highly recommend Nikos restaurant !!
Update: Our Experience Improved Significantly

Update: Our Experience Improved Significantly I wanted to update my original review because, although the construction issues and challenges we experienced at the beginning of our stay were very real, several members of the Grand Punta Cana team worked hard to turn things around. I spoke with Cinthia from Public Relations, who listened carefully to our concerns and was extremely attentive and apologetic. She acknowledged the obvious construction-related issues and did everything she could to make the remainder of our stay as positive and enjoyable as possible. Her responsiveness and genuine concern made a meaningful difference in our experience. I would also especially like to recognize Suje, whose warm, enthusiastic, and genuine personality made our girls feel special. She took the time to learn them by name and led fun, engaging activities at the pool that became a highlight of their vacation. We also received extraordinary service from several staff members, particularly Ricky at Carvao, Raul at the pool, Oscar at the bowling alley, and Gary, who assisted us with spa reservations. Each of them were friendly, attentive, and helped make our time at the resort much more enjoyable. While our stay had a very difficult beginning, the care and effort shown by these individuals changed our overall impression. We truly appreciate how hard they worked to address our concerns and create positive memories for our family. We are now looking forward to returning and seeing the resort once the construction is complete.
Active construction site

I've incorporated those additional details while keeping the review credible and professional: ????? I had very high expectations for Grand Moon Palace Punta Cana, especially after attending what was promoted as the grand opening. During the event, I personally witnessed the owner proudly state that he had just built "the greatest hotel in the world." Unfortunately, I strongly disagree with that assessment at this time. The property has incredible potential, and I am optimistic that it may eventually become a world-class destination once construction is fully completed. However, guests should be aware that the resort currently feels more like an active construction site than a finished luxury hotel. Construction noise continues around the clock. It is extremely difficult to relax or sleep when there is banging and construction activity occurring as late as 2:00 AM. Then, starting around 7:00 AM, workers are back on site continuing the noise. On my first day alone, I witnessed more than 200 construction workers making their way through the property. While the hotel staff were professional and simply doing their jobs, it was unsettling to see that level of ongoing construction at a resort that is marketing itself as a completed luxury destination. My arrival experience was equally disappointing. I arrived at approximately 4:00 AM and was initially refused entry by the front desk because their system had not yet switched to June 1st. After completing the check-in process through the resort's app, I was again denied entry and told that check-in did not begin until 10:00 AM. The situation reflected a lack of judgment and customer service, particularly given the circumstances and the fact that I had a confirmed reservation. As a result, I was left waiting for nearly an hour outside the property under unsafe conditions, including being parked near active construction equipment. Once access was finally granted, the front desk staff largely ignored us for approximately 15 minutes and failed to provide a proper greeting or welcome. Ironically, it was a valet attendant returning from a long walk who noticed the situation, intervened, and helped get the front desk's attention. Even he appeared surprised by the lack of hospitality being shown. To make matters worse, I injured my ankle while walking to the bathroom during my stay. While the hotel did offer a wheelchair and suggested using Uber to a local hospital, I expected a higher level of assistance and concern from a luxury resort. Fortunately, because I spend part of the year living in the Dominican Republic and had access to my personal vehicle, I was able to seek medical attention on my own. The one bright spot throughout my stay was the staff working on the front lines. Many employees, including the valet team and other service staff, consistently demonstrated professionalism, kindness, and a genuine desire to help guests. They deserve tremendous credit because they are the ones dealing with frustrated guests and attempting to make up for an experience that is being negatively impacted by decisions beyond their control. At the moment, the pride being taken in this property's grand opening seems premature. The resort should have waited until construction was substantially complete before presenting itself as a finished luxury destination. The property itself is beautiful and has tremendous potential, but potential alone does not justify luxury pricing. I hope to return in a year when construction is complete and operations are fully refined. Until then, I cannot recommend paying premium resort prices for what is still, in many respects, an active construction zone.

have been a Moon Palace member for over 10 years and have always enjoyed being part of the Moon Palace family. This was my first week at the new resort in Punta Cana, and I must say, the property is magnificent. The beach is beautiful, the pools are outstanding, and there are plenty of activities for kids and families to enjoy. The resort also has a casino coming soon, which is expected to open in the next few months. Since the resort is brand new, there is still some work to be completed. If you visit now, I recommend being patient as the team continues to fine-tune operations and finish the remaining details. The service from my concierge and butler team was exceptional. A special thank you to Alvaro, Miguel, and Abby for taking such great care of us. They are truly amazing people and made our stay even more enjoyable. I look forward to returning and seeing everything once the resort is fully completed.

Álvaro Rondon & Miguel Medina, our Butlers were amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was top notch. From getting our pool cabanas ready in the same spot every morning to sending us fruit upon our return from the pool. Thank you to you both!
