We have stayed at a number of different resorts in the area and this has to be far one of my favorites. The various dining areas were great as there are several choices for various meals. We had a swim out room and it was super relaxing. It has plenty of pools so there were several that were very quiet and relaxing. There is also a pool if you just want to party. All the pools had their own bars. My only negatives are that the pool bars closed at 5PM and the remnants of their beach dock pilings damaged from the hurricane could probably cleaned up as I feel it takes away from the beach view. Overall the resort and the service was great and we will certainly visit again. It is also a short 20 min ride from the airport which makes it even better. We never left the resort.

My husband and I attended a destination wedding and although the wedding was amazing, we would not stay at this resort again, mainly because the beaches look terrible - the huge ugly pylons are placed every few feet to prevent erosion and they are an eye sore - also since we were not "members" our rooms were "sub-par" - we requested to purchase upgraded rooms and were denied. There were no washcloths in the room, poor water pressure, lights were on some kind of timer and kept turning off, room service was either not available and/or they got 80% of our room service requests wrong. They have a resort "app", but it was terrible and made navigating the huge resort even more confusing. The printed resort maps they provide are nearly impossible to read. For such a huge resort there were usually only 1 or 2 people at the front desk (lobby) to help. There is loud music from various venues at night, and to top it off I returned home sick with "traveler's illness". Definitely not worth the money stay at this resort unless you are a "member".

The resort is always absolutely beautiful, grounds well groomed and well manicured. But it’s the employees that make the resort. All of the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember the names of all the outstanding we met!! Some just around out more than others. Julio from the Spot pool was absolutely amazing, great service, always smiling and fun to be around. Vlad from Kick restaurant was just as amazing!! Take the time to talk to the employees, great people!!!

Just returned from a great experience at El Dorado Royale. Clean; Friendly Service; Great Food; Relaxing environment. We enjoyed both the beach and the pools. North end of the property has the best beach access. Quiet pools as well as activity pools available. We especially enjoyed the ability to take long walks -- to get to the restaurants. 1 mile of walking from one end to the other. Favorite Breakfast is at Palms restaurant. Shout out to Felipe for friendly and great service. Shout out to Andrew --our very helpful and responsive butler.

Had the best time at El Dorado Royale. Every staff member we interacted with was so friendly, kind, and helpful, from the waiter who brought us a margarita while we checked in, to the golf cart driver who helped us get to our room one night when we made a wrong turn leaving karaoke, to the waitress who seemed genuinely happy to give us recommendations on her favorite menu items. The hospitality was wonderful. The food was amazing - we tried a little of everything, but the Mexican restaurant was our favorite. We didn't swim in the ocean, but we probably wouldn't have no matter how the beach looked. There were plenty of very nice pools with swim up bars to enjoy. Our room was nice - comfortable bed, large tub, and a balcony. If I had to find one thing to complain about, it would be some of the other guests, who seemed to be frequent visitors, were loud and rude. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault, and it made me feel bad for the staff who were all working hard.
