We’ve been to this resort many times. It’s a small boutique-ey type of resort with a beautiful beach, good food. It the not the place to go for nightlife as it pretty much shuts down by around 10 pm. What brings us back over and over is the phenomenal staff. Very friendly. They all go out of their way to do whatever they can to help you. They make you feel like family. Shout out to Agustin (restaurant manager, sommelier, and tequila teacher). Carlos and Tristan (entertainment), Omar (who taught us how to make ceviche and aguachile), Cris (yoga teacher), and Alberto, Carlos, and Rusel (3 of the many phenomenal servers). Till next time!

I feel like I end up writing the same review every time we visit El Dorado Maroma—but the truth is, it’s because nothing changes… and that’s a good thing. In our eyes, this resort is the epitome of perfection. It’s beautiful, relaxing, fun—and the staff is simply AMAZING. Speaking of the staff, I can’t write this without recognizing this incredible team. Our bartenders—Rene, Diego, Betsbae, Karen, Gustavo, Philipe, and Daniel—your drinks, kindness, and genuine friendship are truly second to none. To the beach butlers, Manuel and Marco—thank you for taking such great care of us every single day. From perfect chairs and towels to just the right amount of shade (or sun!), always with a smile—and even a hug! Omar, Mufar, and Osvaldo from the entertainment team—you are the BEST. Your energy is contagious, and you go above and beyond to make sure everyone is included and having fun! To the amazing wait staff—Augustine, Arturo, Rodigo, Carlos, Ezequiel at Pepitos, Jesus at the Beach Dinner, Fernando at Mio, and so many others—thank you for making every meal feel special. From warm welcomes and laughter to mimosas, wine, and impeccable service, you made every moment memorable. And to Elizabeth, our concierge—thank you for going above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. There are so many more team members who made an impact, and we are grateful to each and every one of you. If you’re considering El Dorado Maroma for your next getaway, I cannot recommend it enough. This was our first visit to this resort and it will definitely not be our last! Upon our arrival we were greeted by one of our butlers, Hans. He is someone we have known for years and has become familia! He gave us a tour of the beautiful resort; we were pleasantly surprised at the variety of places to eat, including a coffee and ice cream option, given the small size of the resort. Eli was our other butler – the two of them make a great team! We were impressed by both the gourmet food at Mio, and the knowledge and friendliness of the waiters -Alberto and Francisco. We asked about specific dishes and they provided great recommendations – making it a scrumptious meal to remember! We opted to pay extra for dinner at Palafitos for Mother’s Day. The quality of the food is top notch, coupled with the beautiful ambiance and the view. It was completely worth it. Every meal, including room service, was delicious. The liquor available at all the bars was top shelf. We loved that the room key is a silicone band – no need to fumble with a key. Our three day visit went by in a flash. We are looking forward to planning a return visit to this beautiful resort and its amazing staff!

We have been to many resorts over the last 20yrs and would rank the El Dorado Maroma as #1 in our book. From the transfer, to check-in, to the room (#522), to the food, the beach & pools, and last but most importantly, the staff. We would not hesitate to strongly recommend this resort and plan to return.

My husband and I have been to all of the El Dorado hotels except Maroma. This trip we decided to give Maroma a try. I cannot say anything negative about our experience; it has been a week of memorable experiences and top notch hospitality. The property is very small. You feel like you’re part of some exclusive group. Marco, the beach butler, took great care of us at the beach and the pool. Marisela in the spa gave me the best two, 80-min massages of my life. If you like deep tissue, All of the bar tenders make great cocktails, and Rene and Diego made sure we always a cool beverage in our hands. Carlos at Papitos greeted us with a warm smile every morning. Augustine does a 1:00 tequila pairing which is out of this world. It costs extra, but it’s totally worth it. I would do it again. Also, remember to have some fun with the activities people.
