We arrived around 12am to check in. Unfortunately, my reservations got messed up. I was extremely upset because I thought I had locked in a much lower price weeks prior. Luckily, the front desk was run by Dennis. Not only was he in a good mood at 12am, but he allowed me to sit in the front lobby as I tried to figure out what we were going to do. He clearly recognized I needed a few minutes to relax. I ended up deciding to stay there and I am glad I did. Although I was not able to lock in the low price, I thought I had booked it for, the prices fluctuated for the days we stayed (6-9 December 2022). Additionally, Dennis oriented us to everything we needed plus more (in the hotel and local establishments). You could not ask for better customer service, especially, dealing with an upset customer that is past their bedtime. My card was charged for another date I wasn't there. He did not have the ability to refund me, so he told me to speak with the hotel manager (Julia) in the morning.
I missed her the next day because we were out playing tourist. The staff told me when she would be in the next day. I showed up and I was able to speak with her. Julia was extremely apologetic and had already taken care of the issue when her associates relayed the issue to her.
More hotels need to have customer service like Dennis and Julia. It was obviously the culture of the staff because everyone we dealt with was pleasant. The house keepers were friendly, but not over the top. The right amount to make it comfortable and not worry about them bothering you.
The room was clean and had everything you needed. Had a small refrigerator. No microwave, but they had one in the hotel if needed. Bathroom was spacious. Bed comfortable and clean.
Great location. The piers are one block away. There is not much open late during the week, but there are a couple restaurants right outside the hotel. Not great food, but if you do not plan then are convenient. In & Out is literally right outside the backdoor of the hotel, which stays open later than most places.
I never felt unsafe in the local area, and I did walk to the 711 (about three blocks away) at 1am. However, I would not feel comfortable with my wife walking around at night. There are homeless and some questionable looking people that hung around outside 711. Again, I did not feel unsafe and there aren't any bars or good reason to be out at that time anyways, so not a real concern.
The location made it easy to walk to the Piers and Ghirardelli Square.
We bought a Hop on Hop Off one day pass, which the first stop is only a few blocks away. It allowed us to use it as a taxi and see all the popular tourist locations.
We used Uber to and from the airport. Make sure to give enough lead time during odd hours because there isn't many available at odd times and taxis were almost double the price.
I will stay at this hotel if I want to visit the piers on my next trip based on the location, price, and customer service.
Thank you, Dennis and Julia, for making our stay stress free.
Poor experience and WORSE experience trying to resolve Billing issue

Was in San Francisco for Salesforce conference and rates were exorbitant (over $800/night). Hotel gave me breakfast vouchers for 2 people but sadly charged my room for the breakfasts which I've been trying to get a refund and have been unsuccessful for last 2 months. Very unhelpful staff over the phone as they keep reverting me to their manager who never answers nor responds to messages left on voicemail. Rooms are in need of refurbishment but bathrooms are well kept.
Location, Value, and a Great Bed - Every Traveler’s Dream!
Dec 08, 2022
Let’s be honest, every traveler (business or leisure) expects the same three attributes in their lodging choice: location, value, and a comfortable bed. The Marriott Courtyard in fisherman’s wharf shines brightly in each of these categories. Locationally, it’s hard to beat. Smack dab in the heart of the fisherman’s wharf neighborhood, it is an easy walk to great attractions and the marvelous dining experiences travelers expect when visiting San Francisco. But don’t let the fact that this little gem of a hotel sits in the middle of a busy tourist area scare you off. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and comfortable. From a value standpoint the Courtyard fisherman’s wharf is unparalleled in comparison to other hospitality choices in the City. As a frequent traveler to San Francisco, I’ve experienced many different hotel properties. The CBM Fisherman’s Wharf always offers a competitive price point whenever I am searching for a place to stay. Though you might find a cheaper option, most, if not all, of those choices are lacking in the quality and amenities one comes to expect from every Marriott property. The Courtyard fisherman’s wharf is always my first choice in lodging whenever I visit the Bay Area. I’d be remiss not to mention how comfortable the beds are at this hotel. My family and I stayed here 5 nights recently and all of us raved about how well we slept and gushed about the quality of the beds. The bed alone will make you feel like you are staying in a 5-star property. Finally, I can’t imagine a friendlier staff then the team who assisted us during our stay. From check-in, to valet, to housekeeping, we were always greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. If your looking for a comfortable room/bed in the city at a great price, I highly recommend you consider staying here. You won’t be disappointed!
Basic but location makes it bearable

The walls are really thin. Can constantly heard footsteps, running and things dropping. Can even hear people walking past the hallway. They don’t provide water. Room service is every other day and even with room service, they don’t top up the body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Saving graces (and because of these, it is rated a 3)
1. The staff are helpful and friendly, esp Leo. He went out to help me exchange quarters for my laundry wash and dryer.
2. Laundry facilities.
3. Proximity to food, cable car and it is right next to Pier39
Above and Beyond

I arrived early at the hotel and was checked in and bags stored. However upon return there was some confusion as the record showed the room was occupied though I didn’t have any keys. Thanks to Madi and Molly at the front desk everything was sorted out soon enough but with utmost care as to my safety. Plus for my trouble they kindly gave me complimentary breakfasts for the two days I was there and a free late check out. All with a smile and genuine warmth and concern. Clearly a great culture of hospitality set up by GM Julia. I love San Francisco and now I have a favorite spot to land. The Courtyard. Thank you Madi and Molly, you’re the best.
