Great location, overpriced parking

We choose this hotel for its location which worked great for us. It is just a short walk to Pier 39, also the cable car and tram are right around the corner. We felt save as a family with children here. Our room was ok, clean and equipped averagely - you clearly pay for the good location here. Same for the parking, USD 65 + tax per night is absolutely crazy in my opinion. I chose valet only because I've heard that it is not save to park in the public garage next door. Also, the one time I requested my car from valet via text message as I was instructed, it did not work and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes. On a positive notice, the hotel allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours after check out which was a great service.
Great Location - Terrible Experience

I purposely booked this hotel because of the prime location. Before arriving I checked in via their app as prompted via email which was super easy. Upon arriving (around 11am) I confirmed our check in and they held our bags so we could explore and catch our Alcatraz tour. After our tour we arrived back at the hotel for the night (at around 9:30pm) to find out the hotel overbooked and they no longer had a room for us. Needless to say I was pissed and upon talking to a manager and them doing stuff behind the scenes we were able to stay in a room with a king bed. This was not ideal as we needed two doubles, but it was a room. The room smelt of urine and we were not given an apology or a discount. Literally the only reason to stay here is the location, but there are plenty of others in the area.
