Great stay before the SF Marathon. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were a great value.

I rarely write reviews but I can not express enough what a wonderful place it is. The pool is wonderful very warm. More then that the service was above and. Beyond. They welcomed us, printed our tickets and every staff member greeted us daily. It was really exceptional. Rooms were quiet, comfortable, and very clean. We stayed on the premium side and it was only an20.00 upgrade . They also have a great late regular checkout of 12:00 which was plenty and you can extend if needed for a charge. Amazing for families and plenty of room. Also location is really good.

Perfect central location. Exceptional customer service. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Room was spacious and we even had a balcony. Everything was clean and quiet. Great experience! Recommend!

My partner and I initially booked a standard room at the Handlery Hotel San Francisco. On arrival, there was a noticeable odour in the lobby, hallway and our room. We reported this to staff, who promptly sprayed air freshener in both the hallway and room. Our biggest disappointment was that the room looked completely different from the advertised photos. We felt the images were misleading as the room was small, outdated, and the sink was located in the bedroom by the entrance rather than in the bathroom. Our booking also stated a standard room with one queen bed, yet we were initially given a double bed. Staff later offered us a "free" upgrade to a queen room, but this was simply the room we had originally booked. We considered moving to another hotel but decided to save money and give the Handlery a second chance by paying extra to upgrade to a Premier King room. Although it was an improvement, it was still outdated and had further maintenance issues. The bathtub drained poorly, leaving water around our ankles while showering, although this was fixed quickly after we reported it. The toilet also leaked after every flush. Maintenance advised this was a "known issue" and not a quick fix. Faults like this should be resolved before rooms are made available to guests. I would like to emphasise that the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout, and this review is not a reflection of their service. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, we would not stay here again.
