Arrived at this beautiful location and first impressions were ‘Simply Stunning’ and this continued for the duration of our stay. From the minute we stepped from our Transport on arrival till we left the attention to detail was Top Notch. Met at the car and taken to a relaxing table with cold towel and iced drink to sip whilst going through our arrival’s procedure. No standing at a Reception desk here, no way. All very relaxed, personally attention with all information required passed on and formalities over without feeling formal. Escorted to room which even having seen photos and with big expectations was still even better when we entered. Given a tour of room with information regarding fridge being stocked to our liking, mosquito procedure – turn down service includes fixing the mosquito nets, setting up of a Mosquito coil and room spray. Wow, gorgeous room. Bathroom a very generous size with the largest shower I have ever had in a hotel/accommodation, wrap around balcony with the best views and advantage of the shape is you can be in or out of the shade what ever time of the day. Bedroom area very spacious, comfortable bed with our Kimonos laid out, dressing area with wardrobe space and shelves for storage, Kitchen area with coffee/tea etc, fridge and glasses, bottle opener, ice bucket, everything you’d need. The property is pretty much open to nature with netting providing the shelter from the outdoors. This was lovely as you could totally listen to the world but by default the layout of the resort maintains total privacy. We arrived on a Tuesday, just in time for the Weekly Caribbean Night. Joined in for a welcome rum and cocktail Meet and Greet, with the manager personally introducing himself and senior staff to all guests. Drinks are accompanied by traditional Caribbean hors d'oeuvres and the dinner is also traditional in buffet form. What a good way to sample local all in one evening. A steel band is also playing and this is a lovely background vibe in keeping with the evening theme. Satisfied with our meal we headed to the bar and the bar staff are more than happy to advise on the best rums, cocktails made to your preference and all done with a huge smile and some chat. Facilities include a gym (a few minutes’ walk away at the Jade Mountain Hotel. This is small but really wasn’t used much so more than adequate. Beach has bar for drinks and food service, Scuba on site with a Boutique and of course the beautiful beach with availability to towels etc where a member of staff will set up your area for you with covers on the loungers, towels, menu’s etc. All the beach services run seamlessly as the system is so well tuned. We mainly used the Treehouse for dinner. This has a main-stay menu and a nightly changing menu – all interchangeable and the chef seems happy to adapt to suit. Breakfast is buffet style but served by the very friendly Flavina. She is just who you need to start your day. She is full of energy, works so quickly but makes you feel so relaxed, she also remembers what choices you have and will have it all there for you pretty much after the first day. Very nice selection to choose from, fresh and tasty and also an A la Carte cooked selection for you. Yummy. We used the Concierge Service to arrange tours/transport and this is all done very efficiently. We did have to check back for confirmation of the arrangements but having said this it was always done. They have the confidence in the system, it is only us guests who want the nod. Need chill out more as this is the place to do it. The views are the best. We could literally lie in bed and see the Pitons without even moving. I would love so much to go back here.

Wonderful Honeymoon Destination for the Adventurous

PandSJ-C on Oct 17, 2022

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon (10/7-10/13). Room and check in: We booked a standard room, which when we arrived, we were less than impressed with the room. The standard room was not private and the bathroom had zero privacy and it was a long walk up from the restaurant and beach. I went to ask reception if it would be possible for us to upgrade our room; however, to my surprise, they said that they were already working on it and a manger would let us know. (They apparently noticed that we weren't impressed with our room, even though we didn't say anything to the host). After dinner, a manager found us and showed us to a new upgraded room. The new room was wonderful, it had excellent views, great airflow, and was very private, and they did not charge us for the upgrade. It was also only a few steps from the Treehouse restaurant. Our trip was dramatically improved by the new room and we were able to fully enjoy the resort. We never had any issues with mosquitos (our room did have full screens, but we never were bitten while outside either). The no A/C thing wasn't bad with our upgraded room. We slept great each night with the open windows and fans (it would get warm during the day, but we didn't spend any time in the room then anyways). We loved the tree frogs each night. Food, Drinks: Everything they make here is fantastic. All the food was excellent, the seafood options were so fresh and delicious, the pastries in the morning tasted like they came from a nice bakery, every dish was fantastic. We are big cocktail fans and we were very impressed by the quality of the drinks. They were all handmade with freshly squeezed juice, not cheap bottled premix. Both food and drink were incredibly consistent. We ate at all of the locations and enjoyed every meal. Service: I honestly don't know how anyone could say anything negative about the service here. It was over the top. They are the most attentive staff I have ever experienced. Everyone was very friendly, eager to help and seemed genuinely interested in hearing about our trip. This goes for all the staff, the managers, porters, housekeepers, waitresses, bartenders, beach attendants, and SCUBA center staff. Everyone was more than helpful and kind. We tried our best to tip the staff. However, never once did we feel like anyone lingered around for a tip. It seemed that every staff member we talked to had been there for years (one had been there 30 years!). I think this says something about how well the resort is ran and the people are taken care of and happy to work here. SCUBA: The diving and snorkeling here is incredible. The life under the water was better than anything we've seen before. We did 4 dives with SCUBA St. Lucia team and they were very professional. They helped set up and take down gear, dives groups were very small and we felt like we had one on one support from a dive master (we even did a boat dive with only us on the boat). They also provide wash down, drying and storage racks for gear, and locks for a personal locker. Tips: We climbed Gros Piton one day. Neither of us would recommend it and we regretted doing it. It is very difficult and the view from the top was much less than expected. Jade Mountain is incredible and it is worth a trip up to have a drink and take in the views. I would recommend going with a room above standard. There are a lot of stairs. You can always call a shuttle, but we never did. Rooms higher up would be a lot of work. There were ~190 stairs to our villa from the beach, which was one of the lowest on the mountain. The rum class was a lot of fun (but also pretty boozy). We had an AI package and we were glad we had it. (It does not work at Jade). This isn't a party resort. Which we loved. Things get quiet after 9 and everyone is very respectful and reserved. Overall: We plan to return. We had an amazing time and we absolutely loved it.

A beautiful boutique hotel in a beautiful location!

ToddMFT on Sep 28, 2022

An amazingly beautiful hotel set between the tropical jungle on one side and a beautiful beach on the other. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Note that the rooms are open to the outside so there is no air conditioning. With the fans in the room, it didn't matter. We had rooms 2C, 3C and 3D. All three had beautiful views of the Pitons, the ocean and the jungle. All three had outdoor sitting areas. 2C was especially large and spacious and in my opinion the nicest of the rooms. 3C was very unique as it had a tree growing through the ceiling in the room. 3D had a large indoor/outdoor sitting area where our family of six gathered every night. All three of these rooms are just steps away from the restaurant and the front desk/reception area/ The restaurants served a variety of delicious foods and the servers and staff were friendly and knew us by name. We spent every day at the beach under cabanas. When we wanted food or bar service, we put up a flag, and the servers came by to take our order. Since we had a family of six, we chose the all inclusive dining option, which more than paid for itself. We also took the Simon Says tour (after meeting Simon). It was casual and personalized and fun. He took us to the volcanic mud baths, and two waterfalls and then served us lunch made by his wife. We all enjoyed it. We also did the chocolate making class which was so much fun...and delicious! This hotel is unique and fun, and luxurious. We would come here again.

Excellent 2nd time round

marie s (Shrewsbury, United Kingdom) on Sep 19, 2022

This was the second time we have stayed here and we were welcomed like royality. After a long journey to be met by the manager and showed to our upgraded room we felt really spoilt and blessed to be back in the company of the amazing Anse Chastanet team. This hotel is not for everyone,it really saddens me when people write unfair reviews about this hotel as their website clearly states that there is a lot of stairs and most rooms have open walls so of course you are going to hear the treefrogs at night as you are in a rainforest. Staff, food, snorkelling and activities all wonderful as always. The staff here are warm and friendly and work really hard. We feel so lucky to have visited this quirky hotel again. If you are thinking of staying here look closely at what room would suit you. ,

Good Beach not so great service

derrickmnabors (Fredericksburg, Virginia) on Sep 15, 2022

So I booked thru costco travel. I will be doing this review by stars Accommodations: 3/5 Stars - We had a hilltop condo 12D. If you cant sleep with noise this is not the place you want to be. I was fortunate to have net wiring from bugs around the area so that extremely helped cut down on the bugs. No AC if that bothers you, it was extremely hot but they do provide 2 fans in the area. 12B room was no bug net surrounding our friends stayed in this hilltop, but knowing the environment that would be rough. So pack your bug spray. Food 4/5 Stars: The best food was down at the beach, the tree house was the best place for breakfast. We decided to splurge and try the food and it was decent, but I would say the anse chastanet restauraunts were better then Jade (Jades service was way better if you want attentiveness and people checking on you every once in a while) Service 1/5 Stars: I had read many reviews that the service was good, but in my opinion it seemed like very few people actually wanted to assist you especially when eating. If you order food it will take around an 1hr until you get it and then another 1hr for them to come by and give you your check and this is with all inclusive. Drinks you always have to order 2 unless you want to stay around for 2hrs to get something. The staff was always talking with each other and not paying attention to people twiddling their thumbs waiting to go. I would consider myself somewhat reserved and didn't feel like the service or time was important especially when dining. Activities 2/5 stars: DO NOT BOOK the chocolate tour complete waste of time and not worth the 185 dollars for 2 people (Really wished I was refunded for that dreadful experience). You do not make chocolate (it takes a few days to make chocolate, but in my opinion they could have a batch ready in the final stages for molding etc to make it somewhat of an experience), you do a small taste test which is like dime sized chocolates and then at the end you get a bar of chocolate per guest. They also go to the farm, which is interesting but again not worth the cost. The small trail they offer is worth it but book outside the resort. If you are reading this my biggest advice is to go to trip advisor and book your activites thru there you can knock out like 3-4 activities (Mud Bath, Waterfall, boat rides all in one go for a fraction of the cost. We also did ziplining in Dennery thru Trip Advisor that was definitely worth the cost and it takes about 1.5 hrs from the resort and 1hr of ziplining (but the ziplining was fun and had a great time very friendly since all the ziplines for the most part were stairs to the ziplines and no extensive obstacles to really do so all ages are definitely welcome to this also had great service with one of the guys doing videos and pictures from our phone the entire time!). Simon by the beach does spearfishing and that was also excellent so try it! Overall Rating 3/5 Stars: The resort is probably one of the nicest on the island and the beach (although not private was very inviting and not many people swarming the beach), I think the biggest problem to me is the lack of service in dining scenarios even though the food was great. Also tipping (despite what the web says) for anything outside the resort is a definite so I would recommend being ready, some will blatantly even ask you for a tip outright and its very awkward (ALSO CARRY US CASH with you before you leave!!!!!!!!!!! US Dollar is king out here EC is a complete waste of time to be converted). If you use the Resort conversion you can do 200 dollars they charge you a 20dollar fee and then cut you another 10 dollars in the exchange rate so you basically lose 30 dollars. Solar Tours did our too and from airport travel and both times was asked to tip (already paid a substantial amount for an 1hr of the drivers time so its off-putting). Me and my wife tried to tip the people we had a good experience with and were really engaged with us. All in all it was an experience, but I was disappointed in factors that really influence a persons experience.
