The BodyHoliday is an amazing St Lucia resort experience. On top of this we cater for every taste in food and drink with five great restaurants and relaxing bars.
Based on the four key pillars of relaxation, restorative beauty, exercise and good diet, our all-inclusive resort has been created specifically to ensure that our guests leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and recharged. Renowned for our treatments, therapies and activities, we offer everything from archery to SCUBA, spinning to Pilates, and Ayurvedic treatments to Reiki.
It is an experience that allows you to be as busy or as quiet as you want. It’s your holiday; choose whatever you want to do.
I spent 5 days at BodyHoliday but it was really more like 3 as I arrived early evening on Monday and left Friday morning at 9:30am. I had a really wonderful time, and I’ll try to walk you through the place and who it might be a good fit for, and who might want to consider elsewhere. First, I think I was expecting more of a four star resort when I would put BH at more of a 3.5. So I rated it a 4, because I wouldn't go as low as a 3. Here’s the good, the bad, and just good to know.
The good: 1) The service is generally excellent, as you are probably accustomed to if you travel in the Caribbean much. The staff is warm and attentive, especially in the restaurants. I found the staff on the beach a bit less attentive. My room was always cleaned very quickly in the morning, and turndown service (including a teapot with herbal tea and cookies) happened while I was at dinner. 2) The beach is really nice, and has some good snorkeling off to the right over the rocks. During my stay the temp of the water was perfect. 3) Almost unlimited free activities—so many water sports to choose from and they are for the most part included. If you want water sports this is your place. 4) The spa! BodyHoliday actually includes one free spa treatment per day and one of my massages was one of the best I’ve ever had. The spa complex is gorgeous. 5) The food at Tao was really good, and the service incredible. You need to make a reservation for Tao. The dinners at Cariblue, the restaurant you can just walk into, are good too. Breakfasts and lunches are buffet at Cariblue, and pretty much what you would expect--not really cruise food, a little better than that, but close. I had a bento box at the Wellness Cafe for lunch one day -- it was ok. The special restaurants that you need reservations for are not to be missed -- reserve them ASAP with the concierge upon arrival. 6) They make COVID testing for re-entry to your country of origin relatively easy, but the nurse only does it during certain hours, and you need to schedule it at the concierge. Be sure to ask about this and get the details on it while checking in.
The bad: 1) Good luck getting an umbrella on that beach. Everyone goes down there before 8am, puts stuff on the loungers and tables to claim the space, then doesn’t show up again until after noon. Same at the pool. Very irritating if you want to spend the morning on the beach and you look around you and all the good spots are taken up for hours by people who aren’t even there. 2) Stairs/accessibility. If you have bad knees, or a little extra weight on you that affects mobility, getting around takes some effort. I think the woman who gave us the welcome tour said the spa is up 79 stairs. Yep. 79. I had to take breaks climbing up there. 3) Rain. It rained off and on for 2/3 days I was there. It’s an issue if you are on the beach and you weren’t lucky enough to get an umbrella as all your stuff will get soaked. Must be a regular thing because they do put umbrellas in every room. 4) Yesterday I got down to the beach at 9am and they were OUT OF TOWELS. What? It's a beach resort! And they were out of towels pretty much all day. 5) My safe stopped working the last day I was there. I just ignored it since it was my last day.
Good to know: 1) I paid extra for an ocean front room and I didn’t really look out there or sit out on my balcony much. Next time I’d probably just get a garden view room. Oh and my room wasn't very big -- not tiny, but not very big either. Nice big bathroom though. 2) My 5 day trip with an evening Monday arrival and an am Friday arrival just wasn’t enough time. It takes a day to get used to the resort, and another day or two to figure out what excursions you might want to do. I was sad that I missed the snorkeling tour to the Pitons because it is tomorrow and I’m already leaving. Give yourself at least an entire week. 3) This would be a great place for very active people who want to continue their fitness regimen while on vacay -- really well stocked gym with personal trainers, as well as fitness classes like Zumba and water aquatics and yoga, etc. Lots of exercise options.
Bottom line: It's not really a luxury resort -- more of an activity filled beach resort with great service, if that makes sense. I will most likely go back for another longer trip.
Nothing compares to Bodyholiday

It’s my third time here and surely not the last. I hope they will never change anything because this is just my happy place and everything functions perfectly well, from the choice of activities to the food (I am Italian, goodness knows how fussy we are with food where I come from and yet I am super happy with food here), to the day trips and kindness and friendliness of the people who work here.
I only have one suggestion, as I don’t get on well with air conditioning because I am not used to it: it would be nice to have an open air gym, i.e. a space in the grass with weights people can use if they don’t want or can’t stay indoors like me - I find the temperature of the gym close to that of the arctic. I did take the weights and went outside to get my exercises done however if there was a space with this purpose I would feel less awkward.
I had a fantastic holiday and I can’t wait to get back.
