Beautiful hotel with incredible views and easy departures.

MomNH23 (Cape Canaveral, Florida) on May 10, 2025

This hotel is absolute perfection in my eyes. Everyone was so nice and caring after a canceled flight and then a flight delay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. They had a shower and a bathtub big enough for the water to go up to my upper arms and most of my body submerged. The bed was so comfortable and cozy. They have room service and also a restaurant. They have luggage help and the hotel is directly above US departures area. The room overlooked the runway and mountains. They even include a plane spotting guide! I would definitely love to stay here again.

You’re right on top of the airport, 5min. walk for us:) Fairmont was great about getting us into our room early:) Wife hurt her leg on cruise and couldn’t walk:( Fairmont put us in a handicap room:) let us use a wheelchair:) helped us down to airport check-in:) I could talk about ALL the things we loved about the Fairmont, but the customer service was EXCEPTIONAL! Their people went above and beyond ????

Best airport hotel in town!

yvrgirlToronto (Toronto) on Apr 23, 2025

Such a lovely and convenient choice for a day or night stay. It’s pricey ($450) but you don’t have to travel off site and you get Accor points. Had a visitrichmondbc.com promo. Super comfortable and luxurious with a great view. They had a small welcome toy for my kid. Appreciated the robes and slippers and fridge in room. Huge bathroom and tub. Very friendly front and all staff and was met by a surprise bell man at the bottom of the escalators who took our luggage for us. Wish we had time to use the pool. The restaurant wasn’t that great this time (fish dish was too salty) but we usually have afternoon tea or a dinner here when passing through to visit with family on a layover. Totally recommend if I’m your budget or time constraints! The accent inn (relatives stay there) is also a great choice if this is too pricey but offsite.

Disappointing, has definitely gone down hill

WorldTraveler50226 (Scottsdale, Arizona) on Apr 22, 2025

I have stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver airport hotel many times. It absolutely was my favorite airport hotel. Unfortunately it has gone down hill. The staff is friendly and the restaurant for dinner was still very good. We had several issues with our room - a one bedroom suite for almost $1000/night. No shampoo in the shower but there was two body washes. The body lotion in the bathroom was almost empty. Neither TV worked. All problems were corrected promptly. But these issues should not occur in a five star hotel. The rooms desperately need a refresh as the decor is very dated. The lounge was the most disappointing. The Gold floor at Fairmonts is normally special. The lounge was very small and not well appointed. They were late putting the food out and could have cared less that many people were waiting. All in a disappointing visit.

Convenience 5 stars, Fairmont Gold 2 stars

Darlene M (Vancouver, Canada) on Apr 19, 2025

As a local, I booked a Fairmont Gold Runway View King room at the Vancouver Airport Fairmont to save an early morning rush hour drive to YVR. I love seeing the views of the planes and activities at the gates and wanted the convenience of having breakfast at the Gold Lounge included as our flight was not until noon and there are not many sit-down food options before security at YVR. Our room had a very large window overlooking one of the wings of the airport - where you could watch planes arrive and depart the gates. It interesting to watch the service vehicles dart back and forth. A telescope at the window allowed us to watch planes on the runway, as well as observe the action closer up. Some planes came very close to the building the hotel is housed in - yet there was little to no noise. We checked out the Fairmont Gold Lounge and was disappointed to see that alcohol was not included in the high price of the room, so skipped it for an evening visit. I would suggest buying some drinks and snacks and bringing them to your room (there's a liquor store on Level 1 of the Domestic area that has an excellent selection of spirits at decent prices). We ate dinner at the hotel's Jetside Bar (YVR needs to bump up the number of sit down restaurants before security). The seating is a bit comfortable for dining as the tables are low and really meant to only have drinks at. The tables looked rather tired and battered. The servers were working extremely hard and tried to keep up with everyone's demands. The food was adequate. No discount provided for those of us staying in a Fairmont Gold room, though. Come on, Fairmont, what an easy perk to offer! We had breakfast at the Lounge when it opened the next morning and found it rather dismal and lacking in choice. Unmemorable and we did not get seconds on anything except coffees to take back to the room. The room itself was clean and well appointed. Lovely linens, a comfortable bed - we had a great night's sleep. But the lighting in the evening - when you did not have daylight streaming through the window - made for a dark room even with all the room lights on. It made it difficult to pack and find items. I mentioned this to another guest in the lounge and he agreed. Did not use the FasTrack services included with Fairmont Gold as we were traveling Business Class and our airline provided that. Would I stay here again? Yes, but purely for the convenience factor. And I would not waste money on the Fairmont Gold option - instead I would book a regular room and bring in my own snacks.
