Location

The hotel is ideally located within a short walking distance of the town centre. The rooms were clean, and the staff were helpful throughout the stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone travelling.

NOT Truly Dog Friendly, as marketed.

JayMmBee (Kelowna, Canada) on May 22, 2026

* NOT Truly Dog Friendly * (Stayed 4 nights May 2026) We've stayed at Ocean Pointe so many times and have always loved it, so this trip we were really excited to finally bring our dog (a tiny 9-pound, hypoallergenic, very well-behaved Havanese) along with us. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a pretty disappointing experience. First – and this is a big one – the resort is marketed as dog friendly, but honestly, it really isn't. You can't bring your pet into any of the food and beverage outlets, and despite the beautiful outdoor patios, you're not allowed to sit on those with your dog either. The excuse we were given was that accessing the patios required walking through the restaurant — but we found this hard to accept, because that was never an issue at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel, The Empress, or many other restaurants we visited during the same trip. All of them were happy to have our business and had no problem with us carrying our small dog (or walking her) through their dining areas to reach the outdoor spaces. So that reasoning felt more like a policy choice than a genuine restriction. The only option Ocean Pointe offered us for dining, was to order takeout and eat outside with plastic dishes. For a resort of this caliber, that's just not good enough. We had also booked and paid for a "Club Room", but it appears that because we had a pet, our room was downgraded without any advance notice or explanation. We only figured this out after the fact — and honestly, a heads-up at the time of booking would have been the right thing to do. We shouldn't have had to discover this on our own. We also paid $25 a night (totaling $100 for our stay) for the dog fee, which is supposed to cover extra cleaning – but our room and bedding (#408) actually smelled like wet dog when we arrived. That's not a great start, especially when you're paying a premium. To her credit, the lovely lady at checkout was wonderful and did adjust our bill upon checkout due to our unhappiness, and we genuinely appreciated that gesture. It just shouldn't have come to that. The new renovations feel quite stark and cold compared to the warm atmosphere we remembered. We'd love to see better bedding and pillows instead – the mattress was very firm and really could have used a proper luxurious mattress topper, plus very flimsy cheap duvet. Again, not quality bedding at all. Otherwise, great location and wonderful accommodating staff! We truly hope Ocean Pointe takes this feedback to heart regarding their pet policy, because we've genuinely loved this property for years. We just can't recommend it the way we used to. ??

Amazing high quality customer care

Kimmy34567 (Toronto, Canada) on May 22, 2026

I brought my family here for a special trip: it was the first time we had all travelled together, and I wanted them to feel special and cared for, so I did meticulous research into finding the best hotel in Victoria for us to stay at and landed on this one. What sold it to me was the view of the water from the rooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and being able to see the government buildings across the water and watching the seaplanes take off and land. When we arrived, there was initially an issue with the room, but Andres was there, and he immediately rectified the issue and took a proactive approach to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Not only did he resolve our issue, but he went above and beyond to make this trip very special for us. My family told me afterwards that this was one of the best trips they have been on, and it was partly thanks to Andres' exemplary care and thoughtfulness. He is a real gem, and Delta Hotels is very lucky to have him.

Great value, last-minute find

jamesmQ5265QE (Chester, United Kingdom) on May 20, 2026

Booked this last minute and so glad we did. Great value for money, clean rooms, excellent aircon, comfy beds, and a lovely pool and hot tub area. Walking distance to the Inner Harbour and Government Street, so you’re well placed for exploring everything Victoria has to offer. A much better stay than the higher-priced hotel we tried across the road. Would happily come back.

Another Memorable Visit to Delta Point, Victoria BC

mitzis2016 (Houston, Texas) on May 15, 2026

We have stayed at the Delta Point many times. In fact, the reason I became a platinum member is because we began staying a week or more each spring. The views are breathtaking. The climate is crisp and cool. It is a fabulous place to enjoy the outdoors. The Canadian people are warm and hospitable. Our room is always comfortable, and the service is very good. Special thanks to our housekeeper, Oksana. We didn’t speak the same language, but she kept our room clean and brought us fresh towels and water daily. The concierge, Charlene, really knows her territory and gave us some great ideas. We appreciated Tricia and Jessy in Lures bar. Andres, at the front desk, was very helpful. The only restaurant on property is Lures. The food is very good, and the service has been very good over the years. We hope to return to The Delta Point in Victoria many springs to come.
