I reserved 5 rooms 6 months in advance at this hotel for a family vacation. When I arrived, the room types I had booked were not the ones we received. On top of that, the house keeping service is way below average, our shower was broken and the day we arrived there were dirty dishes in the dish washer.
Disappointing Delta!

We were really looking forward to staying here, as our friends had highly recommended The Delta. However, it was clear to us, and our returning friends that The Delta was a disappointment and the service lacking. When we arrived there was no one there to help with our bags, so we took them in ourselves. It was a comfortable room, on first appearances, yet the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes because we soon deduced that it was broken. Hence nothing was clean. There was no urgency in response from The Delta, where they preferred to try and address this over the phone before eventually coming up to help. It then needed replacing. The shower had obviously just had some tile work, as when you stepped on the tiles they sunk in and white grout seeped out. There was no coffee maker, despite there being satchels provided. This was a saga in itself just getting a new one. The apartment was clean, but there was no proactive approach to servicing our room and we were there for 12 days. When I questioned Reception I was told that you needed to request this yourself. So I requested a service, it didn’t happen, and no one at Reception knew about my request. Then they sent someone in to complete this just as we returned from a day’s skiing. Whilst there was a shuttle, there seemed to be a reluctance to use it. One day we waited in -25 Celsius for 30 minutes to turn up, only to have other guests take preference as they were waiting longer. So we took the bus! The pool and spa were great, which the kids loved. Also, there is a good bar underneath called Brickworks with a brilliant bar man called Leo. However, despite the pools and the bar, we very much doubt if we will come back as the service was well below par! Very disappointed and there must be better offerings in Whistler than The Delta.
