Eligible bookings
A WestJet Vacations eligible package is a vacation package for up to 9 people that includes a WestJet flight and hotel accommodation, sold together as one package by WestJet Vacations. Group bookings for 10 or more people do not qualify.
A Sunwing Vacations eligible package is a vacation for up to 9 people that includes both a WestJet flight and hotel accommodations, sold together as one package by Sunwing Vacations. E-packages and group bookings do not qualify.
Earning WestJet points
To earn points on a vacation package booking, a unique WestJet Rewards ID must be provided for each guest on the booking. Guests will have the option to add WestJet Rewards IDs:
- when making a new booking on westjetvacations.com, via the WestJet Vacations Contact Centre or through a third party, such as a travel agency
- when updating an existing booking on Manage Trips.
- when checking in for their outbound or return WestJet flight on westjet.com or the WestJet app
- when making a new booking on sunwing.ca, via the Sunwing Sales Centre or through a third party, such as a travel agency
- when updating an existing booking on Sunwing’s My Booking Portal
- when checking in for their outbound or return WestJet flight on the Sunwing website or app or directly on westjet.com
Yes. WestJet Rewards is an individual traveller program so each passenger needs to have their own account and WestJet Rewards ID to earn on their individual portion of the package

WestJet Vacations
- When purchasing seat selection, checked bags or paid cabin upgrades for your WestJet Vacations package, members earn on the full amount paid for these “Flight Extras” at their applicable tier earn rate.
Sunwing
- When purchasing seat selection, checked bags or cabin upgrades for Sunwing Vacations packages, members earn differently depending on when the purchase is made:
- Prior to check-in: extras bought through Sunwing Vacations are added to the total package price, meaning members earn points on those extras using the vacation package earning rules of 1 pt per $ spent.
- During or after check-in: extras bought through WestJet within 24 hours of departure are treated like WestJet eligible ancillaries and members will earn on these purchases at their applicable tier earn rate.
