Churchill is the place for true adventurers. Located on the shores of Hudson Bay, this remote northern town has no roads that lead to it, so it’s only accessible by plane or train.

1) Northern Lights

Churchill is one of the best places in the world to view the northern lights. The town averages 300 nights of aurora borealis displays a year. Your best chance to see the northern lights here is from February to March, when the night skies are dark and clear.

2) Polar Bears

Churchill is widely regarded as the Polar Bear Capital of the world, where from October to November, the bears roam the shores of Hudson Bay. For a chance of a sighting, join a wildlife-viewing tour aboard protected vehicles or book a walking tour with a professional guide.

3) Beluga Whales

Visit Churchill between June and August to witness thousands of beluga whales congregate in the waters of Hudson Bay and the Churchill River estuary. Kayak alongside belugas, take a boat tour with an underwater mic to hear the whales chirping or catch views of them from a glass-bottomed boat.
