The ocean and location are the stars at this hotel. The water is the most stunning shade of blue and the sand is powdery soft and almost pink. Just gorgeous. The Accra is also within walking distance to a cute boardwalk and lots of great restaurants and bars. The drinks were good, especially at the beach bar with Sylvester. Nice pools. One has a waterfall and swim up bar. The rooms are dated but adequate. Not really a party vibe. Just a beautiful place to enjoy all that Barbados has to offer.
In desperate need of refurbishment and staff

I'll start with the good points - good big room, comy bed and pillows and if you pick a sea view room really fantastic views to wake up to over the pool area, beach and ocean. Unfortunately that's where it stops. We picked this hotel for it's location whch is brilliant for bars and restaurants nearby and plenty of ZRs to take you anywhere for just 3.5 Barbadian dollars - bargain! This hotel is in desperate need of a total refurbishment, the rooms are extremely dated and on numerous occasions we had to get the plumber in as the taps were hanging off the wall in the shower. Housekeeping was hit an miss. Not even a bottle of water in the room when we arrived after a long journey from the UK. Argumentative housekeeping supervisors was not a good trait. Even though we tried and tried with smiles and politeness at no point did we ever get a smile from anyone in reception and in particular the bar areas. It was like they just didn't want to be there - customer service was terrible and unacceptable. Many times the bar staff just disappeared to get change, more supplies - then they came back to a huge queue of people waiting at the bar. No friendliness whatsoever. The swim up bar was hardly ever open and certainly not the hours it should have been as advertised on the hotel information in the room. For a hotel bar to shut at 9.30 pm was just not acceptable either. Also if you didn't get up at 6.30 am you woudln't get a sunbed and also there were people who were not even staying at the hotel (or the sister one) who came to spend the day with relatives on a daily basis thus taking up sunbeds even the residents couldn't get!! We had people just waliking in off the beach using the swimming pool - it was like a free for all and the worst of it was when there was a hen party in the pool one afternoon who were very loud and totally inconsiderate of other guests. We definitely will not be staying at this hotel ever again. It may have gained it's 4 stars for the facilities but this is definitely not a 4 star for rooms/service/bar facilities. This hotel is in a prime spot and obviously some people are happy with it - seriously get this hotel refurbished, get some happy staff who actually want to make your holiday special.
Absolutely beautiful. With such a warm and friendly people, you cannot help but feel that that this is your home away.??

I have been to the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa on numerous occasions. It has never failed me. The warm and friendly staff are absolutely amazing. It's my home away from home. This time around, I was able to meet with both the Gen. Mgr. and the Asst. Sales Mgr. absolutely awesome individuals. Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity. From the Front desk to the Restaurant Staff to the Beach guy who assisted us with the erection of our beach umbrella, warm personalities. The location of the Accra is to die for or as I say to live for. With this magnificent beach at your doorstep, literally in your back yard, you cannot escape its beauty. In addition, one can find situated opposite the Hotel, lots of places to eat, easy access to public transportation etc. Location, location, location. Warm people, beautiful space, look no further.
Always a Pleasure!

With staying at Accra Beach over 15 times, I am never disappointed. The staff is always attentive and makes your stay an absolute pleasure. Everyone including the GM, the restaurant staff, the reservation team and all, always go above and beyond to make your stay a pleasure! I look forward to my next trip to Accra Beach.
Disappointing Accra Beach Hotel & Spa Barbados
Scotty020 (Glasgow) on Mar 14, 2024
My wife and I stayed at Accra Beach Hotel & Spa Barbados for 12 nights at the end of January 2024. BA Holidays had it listed as a 4* resort but I would suggest that it is more like a Spanish 3* type hotel. The rooms were clean but basic and quite often dirty glasses and plates would lie in the corridor for ages before being cleared away. The beach bar closes early in the evening but the lobby bar at reception stays open late. However, if you pay cash then the barman can’t deal with that and gas to run to the restaurant to process your payment. It was like faulty towers at times and my wife commented that if he wore her watch then she’d see a huge increase in her steps. Also, they only stoked a limited supply of international brands and charged a premium for them. There are two restaurants, one that served both à la carte and buffy style dining and the other was Asian which didn’t open very night. I loved the Asian but unless you are on an eating plan it can be very expensive. The other restaurant was quite good initially but the menu never changed in the time we were there for both lunch and dinner. We had never visited Barbados before therefore chose a full board package. This was a huge mistake as there are lots of restaurants nearby. It probably has the best beach I’ve ever been on with pure white sand and turquoise waters. Unfortunately, the sunbeds are really old and extremely uncomfortable. A limited number of new neds arrived but I soon discovered that you had to be at the beach around 7 AM or earlier to get one. Some days passengers from cruise ships stayed at the hotel for the day. This was a nightmare where you could hardly move on the beach and trying get served at the bar was like trying to get blood out of a stone. If you venture out at night then there’s a boardwalk near the hotel with restaurants and bars with entertainment, which were very good and less expensive than the hotel. The paving out on the street is limited with hardly any street lighting. Reggy minibuses constantly run up and down and are very cheap. I found the Barbadians to be extremely welcoming and friendly and never felt unsafe while out at night. I read some reviews about the hotel that gave me cause to be concerned but I have to say that while it wasn’t the best hotel I’ve stayed at, it was nevertheless adequate. I wouldn’t recommend it to any of my fiends but that’s just my opinion.
