Better than expected

It was good. Would stay again. I would only eat breakfast at the property and go other places for lunch and dinner
Rubbish

Been going to the Accra beach resort since 2006, many times but the last visit in 2024 was the worst. Its not the hotel it was since it changed management. Regulars are not appreciated like they were once. Balcony doors wouldnt lock or shut completely, fan didnt work and aircon didnt work properly. Had to have the safe changed because it kept locking and we spent till 9pm one day waiting for staff to eventually get someone who could open it so we could get our medications and money out, complete day wasted and no apology. If you've never been to barbados before you'll think its great but its not and theres better places around the island cheaper. We will not go there again because when I complained they never even had the decency to reply to my email so that proves trade is that good regulars can be replaced. Shame.
The Perfect Home Away From Home

We have visited Barbados over 20 times and always have made Accra Beach Hotel & Spa our place to stay. We are treated so well from the front desk, the bar and restaurant staff to the general manager. Always willing to assist with any needs. The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the water and close to shopping. We look forward to the next trip!
Wrapped up NICE, but the inside of the package was lacking

The outside of the hotel is as described and pictured. Unfortunately, the inside of the hotel - particularly the rooms are not. Once you walk down the hallway toward our Ocean View (upper-priced) room, the rugs outside are filthy and covered with dirt. There were wine glasses from another room on the floor for the entire 4-day stay. The room itself was clean, but not as described. The outside Jacuzzi was not operable, and when we asked, they just said it was under repair. All of the Jacuzzis had signs not to open or turn on. The bathroom has only 2 bath towels and 1 face cloth. Talking to housekeeping, they said that was "the standard". The bed had one flimsy bottom sheet that didn't even cover the whole mattress. No rugs on the floors by the bed was an issue until we just put towels down. The room had no chairs and no desk area - pretty bad for trying to work and vacation at the same time. Ice Machines were unavailable on the floors, so you had to walk down to one of the restaurants (if they were open) to get ice :(. Overall this is a dated hotel with poor management (very non-responsive) to our issues. We traveled with friends, and they experienced the same problems.
Perfect for low maintenance travelers - pool, beach & good location on the island

The good - location to restaurants at various price points (from Doubles and Chefette to Sake and UVA), daily happy hour at the beach bar on-site, the main pool was clean (I believe they count it as 2 but it's connected), right on the beach if you want to be on the beach. The mid - no explanation of anything at check-in. The ice machine on our floor was missing but the door was open (yikes to a random empty room) and when we mentioned at the front, we were advised to come down to the bar by the lobby with the ice bucket. No kids club though it was supposed to re-open while we were there. No idea if the gym was available as we didn't happen upon it and didn't ask & no property map was provided. Some bartenders were great. At some point the water was out but it happened while we were out and only noticed because the sink sprayed me from the air in the line. No fan in the bathroom so needed to keep it open to let out the humidity. The hotel itself is ~50 ft from the Boardwalk but isnt directly connected and the Boardwalk is just okay. The bad - there is a generator on the Rockley Beach side that runs most of the day and night. You can hear it through the hotel walls and if you're a light sleeper, it's going to be rough. A plate from someone's food (not sure if it was room service or just brought back) but the plate sat for 2 days when we saw housekeeping both days, finally I brought it to the area by the elevator in hopes that someone would get it from there and it sat another day. Our kiddo had an accident in the middle of the night and we stripped the bedsheets and pillow top and the bed was re-made with the soiled pillow top. The front desk supervisor Nicole was very kind and when we asked anything was able to give us a good response. We had a partial week reservation, booked directly, because we weren't sure we would want to stay based on these reviews. When we decided the pool and location was good enough reason, it was cheaper to book a 2nd reservation (on the website, NOT logged in as a returning guest) than extend the current reservation. Nicole was the only desk staff at the time who had the integrity to note that it was better to keep the 2nd reservation. She also was very kind to speak each day we saw her unlike another staff who I spoke to and asked a question and she didn't even respond to me. Very unfortunate since we were there a week. All-in-all we would come back and stay in another pool view room, request a microwave prior to arrival (the room had a fridge but all the microwaves were gone) and bring food to keep costs down. Our kids loved the pool and we loved happy hour - easy peasy.
