Pleasantly Surpised

Maureen N (Abbotsford, Canada) on Feb 17, 2024

Wasn’t really sure what to expect as it had mixed reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are a bit dated as other reviewers have commented, but they are very clean and that’s more important to us than decor. The location is great. Beach is fabulous with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Chairs by the pool are difficult to come by though. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room wasn’t quite ready when we got there but we were given complimentary drinks while we waited. Overall, very impressed. Good value for the dollar.

Another perfect stay at Accra

Gillian B on Feb 17, 2024

The best part of staying at Accra is that it can soon feel like home, with welcoming staff and regular guests to catch up with at the Sunset bar or Sport bar while watching Premiership football. It's a relaxing hotel, plenty of space in the rooms and a very comfortable bed. The swimming pool is long enough and deep enough for a proper swim and the beach is the best on the island, not a stone and perfectly white sand. The new sunbeds had arrived after a long wait and a vast improvement. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant, especially on theme nights which was reasonably priced and excellent service and food. The manager Suresh is always about and very keen to assist in any way. We will certainly be returning! For us it's perfect! Robert & Gill ...The Middlesbrough fans!

Keep looking for a better place! Not here

Lauriee274 (St. Catharines, Canada) on Feb 13, 2024

Very tired hotel. Took ages to get our room even though we booked a month ago. Room was very dated, had no balcony, our door kept getting stuck when closing, outlets in bathroom didn’t work, ceiling fan didn’t work. Worst part was seeing a rat around the pool, letting a staff member know about it, and then no one even came to see the area at all. They didn’t seem to care! I guess they are used to seeing rats at their ‘luxury’ hotel!

Week away in the sunny south

pinchy_79 (Port Elgin, Ontario) on Feb 11, 2024

The four star rating is based on my expectations going in. We booked this hotel knowing it is a budget AI in Curacao and that is what we got. Our room Was actually pretty spacious, AC worked and it had a good view for being in the Royal tower… the closest elevator was out of service the entire time we were there so we mostly did the stairs up and down the 4 floors. Room was cleaned each day and they restocked the fridge as well. The beach is good for snorkelling . We were able to find loungers but if you are there after 8:30ish you will not have shade and you might have to drag some chairs together, we never went without one though but some chairs are a little tired. Food is ok, we ate at the Italian and the grill besides just the buffet both Ala cartes were good. The buffet is ok but don’t expect the selections you would find in the Dominican or Mexico. Service is hit or miss but they are happy to help if you ask, that was never an issue. Location is good, next to mambo beach which offers other food/beverage options and a short bus ride into town for a little exploring. Night life is typical resort entertainment, a little something every night , late night activities you will have to find off the resort though.

Relaxing time

Really nice hotel, friendly staff. Close to shops and restaurants. Beautiful beach. Well equipped bar and nice pool. Clean throughout. Background music would be nice during the day and in the evenings. Tasty food and delicious cocktails.
