The hotel was excellent. It was beautiful, clean,with wonderful staff and good food. They have shuttles to take you downtown or up the mountain. The surroundings are beautiful as are the views. If you get a chance to get to Banff, this is a great place to stay.

Fabulous setting and well maintained historic property. The best food is on the Rundle Bar Patio., undoubtedly assisted by its spectacular views. The restaurants try to be more ambitious and fail miserably. Service is at the level you would expect in this price range.

Crusty, Dusty, Musty and Rusty. A 100+ year monopoly in the Banff area so they can “get away” with subpar, outdated, ugly rooms with disgusting bathrooms and showers. Hallways feel like you are walking through the decrepit hotel in The Shining. The grounds and surrounding area take the focus off of the overpriced dump that this place actually is. Food was no better than an army base mess hall at breakfast. The 1888 Restaurant is an overpriced, super weird and outdated space. The buildings that comprise the hotel need a billion dollars in renovations. This is a terribly overpriced NON LUXURY HOTEL (notwithstanding their propaganda style marketing) with great views and beautiful grounds. Needed to delouse my entire body after spending 3 nights at this place. Caveat Emptor!

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, good food and of course near amazing hiking. Well worth the money. The service was truly five stars with each person going above and beyond to make you feel noticed. The room was cozy and offered amazing views. Each restaurant was unique and good.

We had an amazing time with Alex as our tour guide at Fairmont Banff! He took us to the beautiful Lake Moraine and Lake Louise, sharing the fascinating history of the area and Banff itself. Alex is super nice, interactive, and really knows his stuff. He also helped us capture the moment by taking some great photos of us. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to make our trip unforgettable. Highly recommend Alex!
