Beautiful

Misha N (Los Angeles, California) on Jun 20, 2026

No question, this hotel sits on the most dramatic view! It's spectacular. The rooms are also quite nice. The restaurants are ok, afternoon tea isn't worth it, the indoor pool is awful and stinky, but the self service café is smart. We did not try the new spa, but i wish we did. It looks amazing and worth the premium. People were raving about it. There's also a late night discount on some nights for 1/2 the length of time. The hotel has free ice cleats in the rental shop along with good direction on hikes and safety tips. There's a shuttle to the local ski resort. During the winter when you can ice skate this hotel feels worth it with kids, but I wouldn't stay more than 2 days.

Beautiful surroundings, iconic hotel just as envisioned.

hodophile4nature (Kiawah Island, South Carolina) on Jun 17, 2026

I have viewed photographs of this iconic hotel for years and wondered if the interiors and atmosphere measured up. I was not disappointed. A rock hotel reminiscent of The Broadmoor in Colorado with a more dramatic background. The room was well appointed with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. Decor and amenities characteristic of the reputation with personal and friendly service. Definitely a a great choice for a memorable trip

I’d go back in a heartbeat

Ruth123 (Dublin, Ireland) on Jun 16, 2026

Stop 2 on our dream trip brought us from Toronto to Calgary by plane to Banff on the shuttle bus. Oh Wow, this hotel building makes a stunning first impression. We arrived hungry and tired and but again, too early for check in. One of the options available to us as we waited was the Sunday Brunch in the restaurant. If the first view of the hotel was good, the brunch was spectacular! The welcoming staff, choice of buffet items, opportunity to go back and try other previously unseen tit bits, being able to enjoy local wines and feeling in no hurry. The whole stay lived up to that first impression. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room had a superb view. Sleep and rest was easy. Strolling to lovely Banff with its shopping opportunities is an added bonus. Being outside I realised that the air was so pure I would loved to have bottled it and brought it home. The hotel gave easy access to various opportunities to see the local sights. Consider using the local bus services it’s tickets purchased on the Main Street making a trip to Lake Louise as easy as expensive tours. I would go back to both Banff and the Fairmont Banff in a heartbeat. We took the opportunity to eat at the German restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Great food, excellent choice of beers and something a little different in a menu. Some tables have a particularly good view. Be sure to ask. We also had another very enjoyable trip to the hotel restaurant and highly recommended it.

Fantastic Hotel in Banff!

Sue R on Jun 15, 2026

The Fairmont Banff Springs is truly a special place. From the moment we arrived, what stood out most was the exceptional staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, professional, efficient, and genuinely eager to help make our stay memorable. While there is no shortage of activities and attractions in and around Banff, this is one of those rare hotels where you could easily spend your entire vacation on the property and never run out of things to do. There are numerous dining options, all of which were excellent, wonderful shopping on site, and a beautiful heated outdoor pool that we happily enjoyed even during the cool June temperatures. If you're considering any excursions, I highly recommend booking through the hotel's Adventure Center. The process was seamless, and we booked a true bucket-list experience. We were fortunate enough to have Julie as our guide, and she was absolutely outstanding. Her knowledge of the region was impressive, and she was flexible in tailoring the experience to our interests, including stops at places we had read about or hoped to see. Beyond that, she was funny, kind, engaging, and genuinely passionate about sharing the beauty and history of the Canadian Rockies. The five hours we spent with her flew by, and all of us wished we had booked even more time. If possible, request Julie. You'll be glad you did. The hotel's location is ideal. Tucked away enough to feel peaceful and immersed in nature, yet only an easy (and beautiful) 10-minute walk from downtown Banff. For added convenience, buses run regularly between the hotel and town throughout the day. We traveled with another couple and stayed on the Gold Floor, which I highly recommend. The Gold Lounge is spectacular, offering an impressive selection of food and beverages throughout the day in a comfortable and elegant setting. One thing worth noting is that this is a historic hotel dating back to the late 1800s. As a result, guest rooms are somewhat smaller than what many North American travelers may be accustomed to, more comparable in size to those found in Europe. However, don't let that deter you. The rooms are beautifully appointed, full of character, and entirely in keeping with the charm and history of the property. Finally, the views are simply breathtaking. Around every corner, from every restaurant, and from countless vantage points throughout the hotel, you'll find spectacular mountain scenery that never gets old. If you're considering a stay in Banff, book the Fairmont Banff Springs. It's an unforgettable experience, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Worth splurging on!

This hotel is worth splurging on! Amazing property with rich history. Loved the hotel tour! Had a nice run along the river, great meal at Vermillion, and the Rundle Bar tender made me a custom cocktail!
