Good location, but that’s all.

Stu187 (Chester, United Kingdom) on Sep 13, 2023

Room was dirty, dusty. Air con loud and vents dirty. Bed was ripped. Carpet stained. Door lock didn’t work properly. We left feeling dry and a bit unwell. Upon me advising this at checkout they refunded the small $90 fee we’d paid to upgrade the room from what we originally booked, but were not willing or interested to do anything else simply because we’d booked using booking.com. (They offered a good voucher, but we won’t be returning so that’s no use). Wouldn’t recommend.

Staycation in Calgary

Randy F (Calgary) on Aug 30, 2023

Book the pool when you book your room. Show up on time! The bikes are a fantastic way to get around and see things. Parking is off 13th. I did not complain to the front desk about the water pressure so I don't know if it was fixable but it was terrible. Fine for a regular shower but it you have thick hair you will always feel like it has product in it.

Cool hotel

trapanaki on Aug 21, 2023

Very nice place, and as hotel name suggests, cool decor. The room was very comfortable and a great bed. The pool was popular and you had to ‘book’ a spot. You get seated, much like a restaurant. Great people watching spot, so you may feel a bit awkward if you’re self conscious and are actually there to swim rather than just enjoy the bar. There’s a flash restaurant there, but it was a bit upmarket and expensive for us. There are 4 bars/ restaurants just on the corner by the hotel with cheaper food n drink options. 4 or so blocks away from 17th Ave which is supposed to be lively. We turned left towards the casino n stadium but there wasn’t too much that way, so I guess the lively bars n restaurants were on the right! We saw a couple of the pedal pub tours going by- they sounded like they were having a great time! Great hotel. There must have been at least 4 hen night groups staying there, so the pool bar area was pretty full but people were having fun. I’d stay there happily again.

Nice hotel but needs to be cleaner

jeannekh17 (Montreal, Canada) on Aug 13, 2023

We stayed at the Arts during our visit of Drumheller and Calgary. We initially had a room on 5th floor overlooking the pool. The view was nice, personnel was helpful. The rooms are tired and AC system looks like it was never cleaned. Hence we just had blowing dust in our room. Front desk changed our room. Our second room was very dusty too. The AC was not as bad as our other room. The rooms have old faucets and tub clogs. Hotel has known better days. Pictures online look pretty nice but in reality hotel needs to be updated. Great location, restaurant breakfast was good and a corner away from a well known coffee shop. Overall satisfactory not great.
