Buffalo Mountain Lodge was the first hotel of our Rockies trip, and what a beautiful place to start our adventure! The room was absolutely stunning, and one of our favourite features was the open fire. September was a little chilly, with some rainy evenings, so we loved lighting the fire each night. It made the room feel so cosy and welcoming, and really added to the whole experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always happy to provide extra kindling and firewood whenever we needed it. Their warmth and hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The lodge is around a 10-minute bus journey from Banff’s Main Street, which was ideal for us as we wanted somewhere peaceful and relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to enjoy everything Banff has to offer. The hotel also provided us with a complimentary bus pass for the duration of our stay, which was a fantastic added bonus and made getting around really easy. The bus service around Banff is fantastic! There is also an outdoor jacuzzi, which we kept saying we were going to try but never quite got around to – perhaps next time! If you’re looking for somewhere cosy, relaxing and a little removed from the busy centre of Banff, without being too far away, we would absolutely recommend Buffalo Mountain Lodge. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring and a wonderful start to our Rockies adventure. We would happily stay here again!

Was our first time ..had a cpl hiccups but ea h time they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.. highly recommend

My husband and I visited the Buffalo Mountain Lodge in September on our first stop in Canada. We were booked in for 4 nights and on arrival were informed that we had been upgraded which we were thrilled about and so so grateful. Our room was stunning. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, the bathroom was modern with underfloor heating which was such a luxury. We had patio seating out the back of our room looking out into a wooded area where we saw female elk on our first day. You could also park directly outside of your room which was great. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and provided bus timetables for the complimentary bus passes, which were so handy and meant we didn’t have to worry about parking in town! We ate in the on site restaurant once. The food was delicious but we were slightly frustrated by the time it took to receive our food from the point of ordering. We witnessed at least 2 other tables come in after us order, receive their food and finish in the time it took for us to receive our food after ordering. We would absolutely come here again though and would recommend it to anyone planning on coming to Banff! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

A perfect place to stay, just out of the main Banff town but close enought to enjoy all it has to offer. We stayed in a queen x 2 room it was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Had a lovely real fire and balcony to sit out. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and our own roll top bath. A perfect stay all round. We reported a fault and it was dealt with immediately by maintenance. 5 star stay def recommend ??

Buffalo Mountain Lodge was such a special experience! We checked in on October 7th, and from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. We connected with a gentleman from the United Kingdom who was incredibly personable, professional, and genuinely happy. (We’re so sorry we forgot your name, but we hope this reaches you!) Our stay was phenomenal! The hot tub, heated floors, bus passes, and absolutely gorgeous views—including the elk sightings—made everything feel magical. Ugh, we miss it already! ?? We’ll forever be grateful for the beautiful memories we made here. To the charming employee from the UK, thank you for your wonderful energy, kindness, and impressive work ethic.
