5 stars!

An excellent experience which we hope to repeat! Fantastic facilities - comfy and cozy room -loved the open fire and very comfy beds and pillows. Hot tub was just what was needed after a long run in cooler temps. Food delicious and well presented. All staff were helpful and friendly! Access to trails from the door. Town close, but not too close so you can enjoy the peacefulness of the area! :)

A perfect winter escape

Noor-amj on Nov 18, 2024

I don't usually write reviews for hotels, inns, or lodges because many factors contribute to the overall rating, and few accommodations stand out as truly exceptional across the board. However, BML is one of the rare exceptions. In fact, this is only the second place I’ve reviewed this year out of the sixteen I’ve stayed at. I almost wrote this review mid-stay, had it not been for my anticipation that at least one area of disappointment might pop up before checking out. Spoiler alert: that didn’t happen. I’ll outline why I enjoyed my stay, amenities I used, and why I’m already planning my next visit. Booking: I took advantage of their one-night free promotion for mid-November for a 3-night stay. The booking process was seamless, and I called ahead to inquire about services and amenities. I also requested dietary accommodations via email for an upgrade, which were met without issue. Overall, the pre-arrival communication was excellent, building my trust in the experience ahead. Service: The service was exceptional in every aspect: smooth check-in, super personable staff, offered to bring my luggage to the room, followed up with a call to ensure everything was in order. My calls to both the front desk and the restaurant were promptly answered. I ordered room service multiple times for breakfast and dinner, and everything arrived on time and of high quality. While the menu wasn’t specifically vegetarian or halal-friendly as much as I'd prefer, it had a good variety of traditional and unique options. If you have dietary restrictions, I recommend calling ahead to inquire about accommodations. The service extended to housekeeping requests and even lighting the fireplace, all done with professionalism and efficiency. I also requested a cab to the lodge, which is available for guests. Room: A common pet peeve for me is when the furniture is nice, but the room’s cleanliness or maintenance falls short. BML, however, hit all the right notes. The rustic furniture, warm stone floors, and pristine bathtub and shower added to the room’s charm. The L'Occitane amenities were a nice touch, and the room’s features—such as the bedding, pillows, refrigerator, fireplace, and balcony with stunning mountain views—met all my expectations. Location: While the lodge is a bit farther from Banff’s city center, it is situated in the heart of some of the park's most breathtaking peaks. My room had a mountain-facing view with no vehicles in sight, perfect for videography and sunrise hyperlapses. Accessible by transit and cabs. Food: The Prow, the on-site restaurant, offers a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu that can be viewed online. I found the portion sizes generous, and room service was quick and convenient for ordering takeaway food. The presentation and attention to detail are beautiful. The food's absolutely made with heart from the delicately placed toppings on a simple avocado toast to a hearty lentil stew, each plate's like a work of art. A few amenities I didn’t try include the hot tub and some room upgrades I didn’t opt for. There’s also bottled water available, though I didn’t use it and I think there's a cost to it. Overall, BML provided one of my best accommodation experiences of the year. Can't recommend it enough, and I plan to return next year for another memorable stay. I’m attaching a few photos to capture the vibe of the lodge, and I highly recommend l experiencing the Banff winter escape here!
